After hearing rave reviews from friends about HomeState, my husband and I finally had the opportunity to experience this renowned restaurant firsthand. The food was absolutely wonderful, from the creamy queso to the hearty brisket breakfast taco, each dish surpassed our expectations, leaving us with a newfound appreciation for Texan cuisine. Also, a heartfelt appreciation goes out to Daniel & Casey for their invaluable recommendations, particularly during the chaotic rush hour and the temporary system outage. Despite the challenging circumstances, they navigated the situation with commendable urgency and grace, ensuring that everything proceeded as smoothly as possible. The food is good and the margaritas are great, but this is one of the most overpriced taco chains in LA. I ordered 4 tacos to go and they forgot one of them. Disappointed. I recommend making your own tacos or going to a Mexican owned taco truck that's not banking on white people. - a Mexican American

Small, local Mexican restaurant with fantastic tacos! The tacos are pretty filling, I usually get 2 and am filled up. Unfortunately they only have Modelo tallboys so if you want a light beer you're going to end up drinking a lot, but maybe that's not the worst problem to have? ;) There's a parking lot and indoor & dog-friendly outdoor dining available. Super friendly staff too! Check em out!

My sister had order tacos here for her baby shower and my hubby and I have been hooked on it. The breakfast tacos are so yummy. I like their cookies if infused coffee since it's on the sweet side

I feel like I hit Home state once a week... at least. Quick, delicious, staff is always super friendly & helpful... they go above and beyond to take care of their guests. Good for breakfast, lunch, or dinner -- with or without my toddler!

This is place is pretty consistently good. Tacos are tasty, endless chips, good atmosphere especially for families, and extremely nice staff. Like really nice staff - whoever is in charge of hiring at this place should get an award because everyone is like always smiling. Only reason I'm giving 4 stars is the drink options. I wish they had more selections. Only two beers (neither which are good) and soda options are Mexican cokes. And there slushies are no bueno. It's not a deal breaker but it is something I always think about when I leave. A nice IPA or a root beer would be great.

The tacos are amazing (I get the Tijuana panther with their house made flour tortilla); their queso is divine (and they'll refill your chips for free); and their frozen margaritas are SO good! There's outside seating and the staff is so kind and will come around and ask if we need anything. Again, my FAVORITE restaurant in Pasadena!
