This place is very cool. Aside from the somewhat kitschy "secret" entrance (which was probably much more "in" 10 year ago), they really do create a unique cocktail experience. From the creative menus, perfectly balanced drinks, glass where, and presentation--they really have it dialed in. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. And even the food menu, despite being somewhat limited, left us very happy. Definitely not a weekly hangout, but worth discovering for yourself.

We had been wanting to try ladies and gentlemen for some time. It's definitely an experience that starts when you go through the door and flush. The flight of 3 drinks is a good option, and even though we were open to trying something different, the flavor profiles on some were a little too overpowering. We had the beauty and beast that was a little too aromatic. The smoke and nest that was way too strong. On that one I could not taste the spirit, and never could get my palette to stabilize and enjoy the flavor profiles. The movies and popcorn was just ok. We came for the drinks and what stood out more than anything was the Japanese bread and cheesecake. Absolutely delicious! Were whiskey drinkers and did not feel like diving into the expensive limited spirits. Would have been nice to have a balanced known drink then to explore. Overall though, happy we went and enjoyed the experience.

A very unique experience definitely worth revisiting. The whole experience was delight. The setting, the service, the food and drinks were all top notch. Who doesn't love a secret entrance. The mystique of the setting added to the element of special. That set the stage for what was to come and rest of the evening did not disappoint. The decor was perfect. The service was always on point. The drinks were unique and tasty. Between the 2 of us, we had six different beverages. The Burning and Man was the only one that I found mildly objectionable. The rest of the cocktails were a delight from nose to palate. The food was fabulous. The crispy rice was otherworldly. A must have. The milk bread was almost a home run. Upon first encounter it appears to be freshly baked. The top of the bun is warm and toasty, but the bottom half is colder, which missed the mark. It was nevertheless quite delicious. The Afghani flat bread was equally delightful. Overall a great package and experience from start to finish. I will be recommitting and revisiting this place.

Ladies and Gentlemen, get ready for a cocktail experience! Hidden in the back, basement of a Wanderlust Creamery, and through a bathroom door is an intimate and creative speakeasy. After you flush, you are greeted by dim lighting, sensual art on the walls, and coushiony booths. The main event is $75 for 3 cocktails of your choice. I visited with a couple of friends so we each got to try a number of their specialty drinks. My favorites were Beauty and Beast, Smoke and Nest, and Burning and Man. Service is excellent, cocktail presentations were beautiful, and none of the flavors disappointed.

This was a perfect date night spot! I was able to get a reservation the night of, no problem. I was debating between the side room or main room but ultimately decided on the main room for our first time. We entered by going into the Wanderlust Ice Cream entrance and walking all the way to the back. There, there is a doorman near an elevator who will ask for your name to confirm the reservation and then let you into the elevator to go down to the basement. It is a $75 experience where you can select any three cocktails from the menu. You can share the cocktails with someone else too, but not sure if you can share with more than one other person. They had an enticing food menu but we came after dinner so we didn't order anything. I was eyeing the salmon crispy rice and bone marrow, so I'll try that next time! I think this is a newer spot so there were a few things I noticed that I wanted to point out: When I arrived at the elevator in the back, the interaction with the doorman was a little awkward - he took our name to confirm our reservation and told us that he had to check something because "something was going on downstairs".. that sounded ominous and threw me off guard for a moment, but he was shortly able to direct us downstairs with no trouble. Secondly, our waitress seemed a little quiet and not too friendly. For such a fun atmosphere, I would have expected a little more in her service - introducing the menu, the concept, etc. It seemed like she was shy or didn't like us and that also unsettled me a little. Another thing were the hand towels - they were brought out boiling hot. We couldn't touch them, and while we were waiting for them to cool, our waitress came to whisk them away before we could stop her. So we never actually got to use them! Lastly, I've read it in a few other reviews but I do think the music is far too loud, even for a speakeasy bar. I had to sit extremely close to be able to hear what my boyfriend was saying, but I imagine if I came with more friends that this could be a bit annoying. Despite all of that, I would 100% return. The ambience and drinks are amazing. I agree with others that you need to come with an open mind to these ingredients, which are definitely not your normal cranberry vodka - it is like an artisan concoction of ingredients they deemed to work together. And they do! The presentation is also amazing and really fun. Overall I truly enjoyed my experience here and would return. I think they just need to work out a few kinks!

Excellent speakeasy with a great vibe in the heart of old town pasadena. It is open on limited days, so check their website for hours before you go. Also make a reservation! The music is a little more like a club than a chill lounge/speakeasy but it was very enjoyable, and it wasn't too loud, can chat and catch up with friends over drinks and light food. The ambiance was great and the food was solid. Had 3 drinks, and Beauty and the Beast was a delicious drink with rum, chai tea, port, pineapple, lime, and coconut milk. The Leo and Leia drink with saffron, gin, sherry, fernet, coffee, hawthorn berry, was reasonably good, but a little too sweet for a gin drink, unless you like sweeter coffee flavored drinks. Finally, the Chips and Salsa drink with mezcal, salsa verde, brine, and dry vermouth was a little too salty for my taste but it did get better after a few sips. Overall great experience and would take my friends there. Make a reservation to go!

Very nice speakeasy vibe. Go in wanderlust to get there and all the way to the back where you can find the elevator to go inside, a guy should tell you what to do. My favorite drink was the Ma and La, if you like spiciness in your drink then would def recommend this one. The coffee and biscuit was also great. Me personally did not like the taste of leo and leia, it made me gag but i still finished the drink cause no alcohol gets wasted lol. Didn't do any food anymore since we ate dinner prior to coming in. Not sure how often they renew their cocktail menu but would def come back again when they do to try new choices of drinks.
