I've been coming to the spot for probably over 10 years and the experience overall has been solid. The owners are always really polite, the food is put together ridiculously fast, and the flavors are pretty familiar and flavorful as you would expect from Mediterranean food. I will say, that perhaps there's a little bit of shrinkflation because most restaurants, the portions just seem a little smaller. I think for this cafe, everything is pretty much the same with high quality hummus, tasty rice, fresh salad, but I think the meat portions are a little smaller than I remember a year ago. Also, this round, my lamb skewers were a bit overcooked and on the dry side. But, perhaps this is just an anomaly for this visit. I'm going to try again probably this month!

I’ve been coming here for years for the beef plate beef kebab. The food is great. The salad is also top-notch as well as the nice air conditioning dining area for those hot days. If you want you could even sit outside in the patio either way it’s an all-around good experience and a good place to eat good healthy food
I decided to try this place for the first time, and I purchased a chicken shawarma wrap. I was completely turned off by the taste. You would think they would at least put some type of sauce in the wrap. It was dry and tasteless. This is my first and last time coming here.

My go-to favorite is the beef kabob plate. The meat is perfectly seasoned and grilled to tender perfection, served alongside fluffy rice, crisp salad, and a generous helping of hummus and pita. It’s a comforting, satisfying meal that hits all the right notes—hearty, healthy, and delicious.
Over the years, I’ve tried nearly everything on the menu, but I always find myself craving that beef kabob plate. Koko’s is a true local gem, and I’m grateful to have it as a longtime favorite.

So I'm leaving a dated review. I grew up in love with this place. It was my go to whenever I lived in Pasadena. The business was booming, fresh and fast. The owner who passed away God rest his soul. Was firm but always kind to me. The new current owner is like his father but I hope he hasn't strayed to far from the path. When I see the prices it saddens me. They are very high however, the food was fantastic with lines out the door at lunch. TBH I'm surprised that they never created more because I would easily invest in the same model in my hometown. Anyway no negative just lots of love.
