I didn’t go to the original, but honestly — doesn’t matter.

The Pasadena spot was great. The donuts are exactly what you want them to be: no gimmicks, just really good. The glazed was light and warm, the maple bar hit the spot, and the chocolate frosted was somehow better than I expected.

There’s just nothing else like Randy’s. It’s simple, but done right. And that’s kind of the magic.

THIS IS AN UPDATE!: 5/17/2025 walked back into Randy's donuts on Lake Ave, in Pasadena to give this place a second go at. Took one of my Older lady friends back to a Financial advisor on Lake Ave. In Pasadena and looked across the street at the local businesses and remembered the first crack I have it last week and decided to go again. First time to Randy’s Donuts and they didn’t disappoint! Excellent selection of donuts, even my favorite cronut! The Bear Claw had a yummy apple filling, apple fritter was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, perfectly seasoned with cinnamon and chunks of apple.
Blueberry was like a blueberry muffin. All were excellent and fresh. The coffee was good, nothing special but a good solid cup of coffee.
The croissant breakfast sandwich was a little surprising...
