My very pregnant wife had a very very specific craving. Salted egg shrimp. This place filled that craving and then some. Not only was the shrimp outstanding but this may be the best Kung pao chicken I've had at a restaurant. Excited to try more of their menu.
Fantastic flavors, price point, and service. Would recommend.
Best Sichuan restaurant I had in US. Very top street food even compared to ones in China.

Based on the reviews, Sichuan Street Food (当代川菜) is a hidden gem of a restaurant in Pasadena. Stepping inside feels like being teleported straight to China. This small, family-owned spot serves authentic Szechuan dishes with bold chili flavor and that signature numbing spice. The food is delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. The service is electric, instantaneous, and efficient, with everyone being really friendly. Recommended dishes include the diced chicken with chilies, Dan Dan noodles, egg fried rice, cumin lamb, and green beans. However, the amount of chicken in the Kung Pao Chicken is way too small for the price. Located at 1035 E Green St, this is some of the best Chinese food and a must-have at Pasadena.
