The wines are excellent. The service is outstanding. You must plan a visit to do a private hilltop tasting. It was an awesome experience.
Absolutely delicious wines and fun, family-owned vibe, staff very knowledgeable about their wines.
Such a wonderful time the most wonderful team! A must visit for sure :)
Wine tasting is one of the best activities you can enjoy in California, especially in Paso Robles at Alta Colina.
Alyssa provided us with unforgettable experiences—Alta Colina Rosé is one of my favorites. I even brought some home. My Rosé made the flight all the way to Columbus with me—it’s that good.
Best wines! Best views! Best people...
I don't know where to begin with our experience at Alta Colina. We came by as a group of four on a June weekend, excited to try their wine and check out the property. We come to Central Coast once a year and we love to explore wineries in the area.
Driving up to the property was easy, check in was seamless, and then things went downhill from here. We were shown our table for tasting which was outside, right by the parking lot in the front. I was a bit confused at the time, but didn't say anything to our host right away.
We started with our pours, and what felt like for each pour was just a splash of the wine. It was not enough of a pour to actually taste the notes of the wine. I have been to several wineries in Napa, Sonoma, Healdsburg, Paso, etc... and this was the smallest pour I have ever seen.
Our host was also very much occupied with another larger group at the time, and we felt very much neglected. The amount of pour we got, did not equal the time waiting for our next one. It felt like we were waiting forever for her to come by since we finished our pours very fast, then another host started helping us.
Lastly, we were not impressed with the wine. This place was highly recommended by local friends, and I was expecting the gorgeous views which is all over their website and Instagram. It was a bit deceiving of marketing on their end.
At the end of our tasting, I had to go back and let them know we needed to move on to our lunch reservation. As I was paying for the tasting, I expressed my concerns to the staff and though one of them seemed empathetic, the other did not.
I strongly do not agree with the price of their tasting with the amount of pour they offered, and I did voice they need to be a bit more transparent about their tasting offers (pond/trailer versus a parking lot). Too bad, will not recommend or come back again.
Amazing wines and exceptional hospitality. Book a Summit Tasting-Erica is the BEST!!!! Also-stay at The Trailer Pond on your next trip-one of a kind experience and Melissa is the BEST host!
I planned my proposal at the summit tasting deck and Melissa and Lou Lou were both fantastic in helping me plan it. Everything they helped plan turned out perfectly. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect place to propose!
Great, Rohne style reds.
Also, like their Viognier.
Great people, beautiful place.
great wine selection and amazing service

We spent a lovely afternoon tasting wines with Ed, who was knowledgeable and generous with his time. Loved the family feel of the vineyard. Wines were excellent. We ended up joining the wine club. We will return! Highly recommend making this one of your stops when in Paso.
We love Alta Colina; the wines and the AC family! I'm a sucker for their Petite Sirah, while my husband thinks their Toasted Slope Syrah is the best red he's ever had!!We've done tastings with numerous folks there, but Erika and Ed are our two favorites to sit with when we visit. Going to Alta Colina feels like coming home from a long visit away. We absolutely love it here!!
A friend recommended we visit Alta Colina, so we decided to stop by on Sunday, March 31st. Our hostess Emily was wonderful. She is knowledgeable, gracious and friendly. We had a great tasting, and actually signed up for their wine club!
What a great visit. We had not been back to Paso for five years, but meeting Bob and Lynn , the founders of this great estate, was just a real plus. I love how they are so down to earth and welcoming—Bob still refers to himself as ‘just a grape farmer’. Lovely visit, great wines (see critic Jen Dunnuck’s ratings), and a warm greeting from the hosts. Thx, Bob and Lynn
Great wines, friendly people
