Excellent vineyard, extraordinary views of the vineyard hills, very good wine
My spouse and I visited Calcareous in mid-March for a Cabernet tasting that was out of this world. We tasted a variety of wines from different vintages that were all outstanding. Each was beautifully made and are a great value for their price point. Our host, Nate, explained the wine characteristics, production details, and winery history. He expertly answered endless questions about the local wine community and other wine trivia. The whole experience was just great.
We went to this winery for lunch on a sunny Friday in late February. Wow did it blow all of our expectations away! Our server and wine expert was Brie, she was so caring and attentive to our needs. We took a long detoured route to enjoy driving through the beautiful countryside which left us feeling a little uneasy, within seconds she had sparkling water and crackers to settle us and proceeded to walk us through their offerings and menu. The view is absolutely amazing and their lunch is delicious. You have to get the parm fries!!! We got the 14oz steak and the beet and burrata salad. Both of which were to die, this was our first visit but we will certainly be back. We didn’t even do the tasting menu and Brie let us try her favorites alongside the bottle we purchased. 10/10.
An amazing time here for oh so many reasons. First and foremost Erik made us feel as if we've known him for years. His knowledge of the wines and the history of the brand are unequaled. The charcuterie was a perfect pairing for the many different wines that were offered in the tasting. The red wines (I'm bias toward reds!) were some of the best I've tasted in a long time. Being from Illinois we've found it hard to find thier wines and now knowing they will ship is a gift. I'm no expert or wine snob but the Cabernet and the Syrah were the show stoppers. Go see them and then tell me I'm wrong.........I dare you!!!!!! Kudos to the owners and the staff......you're doing things right!
We had an incredible experience at this winery, thanks to our amazing server, Erik. From the moment we arrived, he made us feel welcome and comfortable. Erik's knowledge about the wines was impressive, and he was able to recommend the perfect selections for us. Not only was he attentive throughout our visit, but he also went above and beyond by offering to take a picture for us, making the experience even more memorable. If you're visiting, definitely ask for Erik—he truly made our day special! Highly recommend this winery for both the wines and the exceptional service.
Great service, great wine, great view. Definitely would recommend Calcareous for a tasting to anyone visiting Paso Robles! They also had a pretty full menu for anyone looking to grab lunch during a day of wine tasting. We had the baguette which came out fresh/ warm and was a great snack for our 10 in morning tasting.

Good wine and views
Excellent wines and our server Dimitri was fantastic. Food was delicious.
Great views, and very good food options to accompany the tasting flights. We decided to buy a bottle of rosé and enjoy it on-site after the tasting was over — perfect for a warm summer day.

Such a great winery! Erik took great care of us. Delicious wines and the hamburger was the best ever!! We'll definitely be back!!
Nate Lopez took our palettes through an adventure in what Paso Robles terrior produces. Top 3 Snacks, Castelvestrano olives, Burrata, and the Famous Parm fries. First Stop on our weekend.
Really nice wines! We had a tasting of 4 wines, and our hostess Brie favored us with tasting 2 additional wines. All very nice. I'd seriously consider signing up with the wine club, however I already belong to 6 other wine clubs and running out of storage. The winery generally closes wine tastings at 5:00 pm, we arrived at 4:30 and we're welcomed regardless. The winery has spectacular views, take time to enjoy their wines outside and take in the views.
Oh wow. Just wow. The views from the patio are amazing. Great tasting selection and a chef on site with excellent lunch offerings. A bit of a drive but every bit worth the effort.
Awesome views. Just can’t beat having wine and some pretty tasty food enjoying blue skies. Service was good maybe 4 of 5. We were there late in the day so that may account for the service. We weren’t rushed in any means. The wine is good. I really enjoyed the Moose cab. Ask about the name. You will enjoy the story and your time here.
