Wine novices, enthusiasts, oenophiles alike go check out LXV Wine in downtown Paso. You will not regret it. Dont mistake the simple and unassuming tasting room for just another tasting room. Our experience was truly lovely. First rather than a typical tasting room where the goal is to simply tell you more about the wines they offer and or sell, LXV takes a journey with you. Notice I said with you rather than take you on a journey. There is a difference. The experience seamlessly meandered through various regions, stories, life experiences of the founders, the host, ourselves, and of course the characteristics of the wine itself adapting in the spur of the moment. Second there was a spectacular and ‘unlikely pairing’ of spices. I say unlikely because most folks refute the ability to successfully pair spices with red wines. Not the case at LXV and I love that they affirm our long held belief that a wine spice pairing is an absolute joy if done right. They embrace it full on and in fact it’s clear that they have spent years developing the match. And the pairings are a match made in heaven. The true depth and passion to bridge between a simple tasting and the little pieces of Tuscany, Bolgheri, Bordeaux that they have brought to the wizardly and no rules attitude of the CA central coast (read maverick winemakers) results in pure magic from the simple yet elegant Sangiovese ‘Jewel’ to the mouthwatering Cab Franc. Check it out. Say Hi to Matt (our outstanding host) who never let us feel like we had a limited booked time at our tasting. Then, sit back and enjoy. Thank me later. Cheers!!
We had a great time wine tasting at LXV. Neeta has developed immense knowledge from choosing the best soil for the grapes to bottling the wine. The cheese pairings go so well with the wines and we both enjoyed the tastings. Wishing Neeta and Kunal the very best in their business, love, and life!!
My wife and I have been our fair share of tastings and LXV was one of the best ever. Obviously depending on your preferences, a wineries tasting options can be really good to average. However, every single wine we had a LXV was great. Furthermore, our sommelier was both extremely knowledeable, approachable and very friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would highly recommend them to my family and friends.
Amazing experience at LXV, the staff was so knowledgeable! The cheese plate and the wines are amazing, such a unique experience. Can’t recommend this winery enough!
UPDATE: I was immediately contacted by the owner within a couple of hours of posting this review. I very much appreciated that. Glad to know that customer service & feedback still matter for some businesses. Thank you!
Review written 10/5: We just got back from Paso Robles where we visited several vineyards (6 to be exact) and one in-town wine tasting room. LXV was one of our 'must' visit based on a glowing Wine Enthusiast article as being one of the best. Well, we thought it was a MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT! We went on Saturday and the tasting room was not busy and yet, we felt the experience wasn't engaging at all. The pours provided were hardly a pour, you can barely taste the wine (ok - maybe 2-3 small sips)! We also did the cheese pairing, That was ok - tasty cheese cubes with Indian spices. That was unique but for the price point we paid ($112.55 for 2 tastings with cheese pairings) I expected more. The picture attached shows what we did, pour + cheese.
Bottomline, we were initially very excited about LXV as evident on how early be made our reservations [as soon as we booked our flights]. For the money and the underwhelming experience, go to Daou or Booker instead.:
So many better tasting options available in Paso. Wine was mediocre and extremely overpriced. Cheese board was great, but the wine wasn’t.
We thoroughly enjoyed the wine tasting, the seasoned cheeses and the information about this winery.
Excellent experience with John in the downtown tasting room yesterday. Thank you!
We wandered into LXV after reading just a few reviews. I’m glad we did. The wine paired with delightful spiced cheese was fantastic. Our sommelier, John, was engaging and very knowledgeable. For non-wine people, such as we are, we were won over. Purchased 6 bottles even!
We recently enjoyed a special wine and spice pairing at the LXV vineyard. This may rate as one of our top winery experiences of all time! The wines are so lovely by themselves, but what an elevated experience when you pair them with a custom blend of spices. Our server was excellent, and Kunal gave us a short vineyard tour before we began our tasting experience. We hope to bring a bit of LXV to Indiana for some of our local friends to enjoy through the wine club shipments (that’s right, we were so impressed that we joined the club!). Special thanks to Kunal and Neeta for making us feel so welcome at your vineyard. We will be back!

Spice and wine tasting experience was excellent. Loved hearing about what inspired each wine the owners choose to make.
My wife and I stopped in at the tasting room on July 2, 2024 and we were the only ones there. This was the first time we had a tasting with what I’d call spiced cheeses. They serve cheese with various spices sprinkled over them and paired with their wines. This was a nice experience and unique compared to the other tastings we had done in Paso Robles. The lady working that day was friendly and nice and did a great job answering our questions. I recommend this place for a different tasting experience.
Wine pairing with different kinds of spice blends was eye opening. They dust cheese or popcorn with the spices to have with different wines. Makes the idea of pairing foods with wine very fun
Tried the wine pairing. It was great.
Greatest wine bar ever. And Garrett is amazing
