The food itself is good, but the pricing is criminal and predatory. They make you buy the sandwich and fries together just so they can charge you more (plus they give you far too many, and they all taste like KFC fries). Plus, it does not come with a drink, which is $4 for a small, so you end up paying $20 for something that really is only worth maybe $12. I know they won't change, but one can hope.
Dave's in SLO is so much better anyway. Just go there.

Overpriced.. The chicken was ok. The breading was falling off not much flavor either. The signature sauce has a large hint of vinegar. Over all it was ok nothing special.

I hesitated because the ratings were low, but I'm glad I gave it a chance! Food was freshly made, nice and hot. It was really good chicken. Exceeded my expectations. The young people that work there were happy and very friendly. We got our food super fast too!

They play loud, obnoxious music, and the service is lame. My fries and chicken sandwich were really greasy. There was a communication problem at the counter. Do not order the extra hot; it is way too hot for any normal human being, and I can eat it hotter than most aliens! I liked the coleslaw.

Food came out very quick, about 5 minutes. Crispy chicken with fries that are crispy outside and soft on the inside. I like spicy so I got the very hot and it had me sweating. I might try the scary hot next time.

Flavorless chicken and please turn the music down it's not a dance party! Choice of music also made it so I won't bring my family back to dinner here. fries were good only reason it gets 2 stars

I travel from the Monterey Bay Area to LA almost weekly for work and am finding myself seeing if I can get to Nates before they close.. I don't care for spicy hot food so I get my chicken naked which has the perfect amount seasoning and spices.. try the Mac and cheese fries, the chicken and waffles and the breakfast sandwich!
My girlfriend loves the kick-it-up sauce...

Food was decent: chicken sandwich was tasty and generous. The "fries" are just extruded potato mush and are disappointing.
But $20 for a sandwich and a small fountain drink? Should be more like $12. There are many better options in town; I won't be back.
