This dinner is in my top ten list. Great atmosphere, talented chefs, wonderful som. Best dessert I have ever had. I have been thinking about it since I left. Absolutely loved the striped bass dish as well.

Incredible food and unique concept! The chef/staff provided my husband and I a very enjoyable and personal experience. This was our first Michelin Star experience, and they are well deserving of the recognition! They happily made accommodations for us based on dietary needs, and we never felt rushed asking questions and striking up conversation. We will definitely be visiting again if we come back to Paso Robles.

We had the pleasure of dining at Six Test Kitchen in Paso Robles, and it was nothing short of a magical experience. The chef's tasting menu was a masterful display of culinary artistry, with each dish more innovative and delicious than the last. The flavors were bold yet balanced, showcasing a perfect harmony of local ingredients and global influences. A standout dish for me was the duck – it was cooked to perfection and melted in my mouth. The wine pairings were exceptionally well-chosen, enhancing the flavors of each course. The knowledgeable staff provided insights into each selection, making the experience both educational and enjoyable. What truly set Six Test Kitchen apart was the attention to detail and the passion evident in every aspect of the dining experience. The open kitchen allowed us to see the chefs at work, adding an interactive and personal touch. In summary, Six Test Kitchen is a must-visit destination for any food enthusiast visiting Paso Robles. The combination of innovative cuisine, impeccable service, and a cozy atmosphere makes for an unforgettable dining experience. I can't wait to return and indulge in their culinary creations once again.

A small boat can outmaneuver a ship.I was so impressed by this place that I cannot stop thinking about it 3 weeks later!Out of over 20 Michelin starred restaurants that I have been to in California, this is the only one that I would be very hard pressed to find a single flaw.Truly magnificent!

Visited a year ago and still remember the experience. Came here to review after visiting a famous ⭐⭐⭐ in Napa. Six Test was a consensus better experience all around, for MUCH less $$$. Hoping I can get back in soon.

A wonderful experience.Need to make reservations. 12 seatingsYou arrive and sit at the counter and watch the all the plates being prepared which we really enjoy seeing how it’s all put together.Everything was awesome. Nothing is overly anything. I was worried something was spicy. But even though it had chili crunch, it’s not overpowering.Enjoyed 14 courses. When you come out, it’s dark and there are not enough street lights but the area feels safe.

Six Test Kitchen started out with 6 seats in a garage down in Arroyo Grande but is now located in Tin City. I've been meaning to try it, and we finally made it out to the Central Coast and were able to escape for Wednesday night dinner. Reservations go pretty quickly on Tock, so if you have a specific date in mind, book right when the slots open up (exact info is on Tock). They only have one seating and seat parties of 2 or 4, no odd numbers. Beverages:Welcome drink: peach tea. We started with a half bottle of extra brut Prosecco, which went well with the first few courses. We then moved onto a bottle of Olivier Leflaive 2019 Volnay, which went well with the later substantial courses. The couple next to use got the reserve pairing, which in retrospect, we regretted not getting. Tasting Menu: Note: the menu can't accommodate a lot of dietary restrictions. 1. To start: - Local Oysters with Meyer lemon hot sauce and tomatillo - Smoked steelhead trout tartare on top of a meringue, topped with roe - Duck liver mousse tartlet with pistachio, plum, wild fennel 2. Santa Barbara white sea bass crudo with half dried tomatoes (wonderfully intense!), avocado mousse, arugula, smoked tomato consommé, topped with crispy fried garlic and shallot bits (like a chili crunch)3. Chawanmushi: made with smoked fish bone broth, topped with cured pork belly, shimeji mushrooms, chive flowers, broccolini - this was most intense chawanmushi I've ever had (in a good way) with lots of flavors and texture 4. Dry aged Morro bay black cod - steamed, topped with a roasted red pepper sauce. Accompanying it was marinated summer squash, shishito stuffed with clam and pork sausage, a charred eggplant quenelle, and a roasted red pepper quenelle Side snack: salted cod brandade with romesco5. Dry aged Liberty Farms duck breast: with a crispy skin, served with grilled peach, sweet corn, and a roasted duck bone sauce with foie gras - this was perfect with the Volnay6. Roasted lamb loin: dry aged for a month, wrapped in lamb belly, sous vided and grilled. It came with burnt onion, hazelnuts, and browned butter7. White chocolate: with melon, finger lime, cucumber 8. Goats milk ice cream: with caramelized goat dulce de leche, fig jam, wildflower honey, candied fennel seed 9. To finish: - Peach pate de fruit - Strawberry "milkshake" in cocoa butter with strawberry preserves and basil - Salted caramel and peanut butter crunch Hospitality was on point, and it was great to watch all of the chefs in action in the open kitchen. Six Test Kitchen is a very cool find in Tin City, and the menu changes with the seasons. Next time we come back, we'll definitely do the reserve wine pairing.

12 seats a night. Must have reservations and pay beforehand. All 12 seats are at a counter facing all the preparations. Everything was awesome. Intricate plating for beautiful dishes. It's a wonderful experience if you enjoy the creativity and flavors. They used a local honey on goat ice cream that was almost clear but so good. I asked about the honey, found out it's a local Paso Robles farm and went to go buy some to bring home. It's in the center of Tin City. Which is busy during the day but dinner time there is plenty of parking. It's just really dark when you come out after dinner.

Mind boggling experience. They were kind and engaging, passionate about their craft, skilled beyond measure. Every course was better then the last and the first one was a 15/10. Hats off to Chef and crew, best dinner I have ever had.. Will be back any time I'm in the central coast. Thank you for the memories.

Highly recommend going for the upgraded wine pairing. We got to drink wine older than us.
