Six Test Kitchen Reviews
An unforgettable dining experience and easily one of the best meals we’ve had.
Every course was beautifully presented, creative, and packed with flavor. Sitting at the chef’s counter made the experience even more special—we loved watching the team prepare each dish with such precision and passion.
The service was exceptional from start to finish, and the sommelier was outstanding. The wine recommendations were thoughtful, perfectly paired with each...read full review
Awesome!
Amazing experience! The staff is extraordinarily knowledgeable and talented. I have to say, we did the non-alcoholic pairing and didn’t know what to expect but it was actually so unique and so much fun! I am even intending on finding some of those drinks for future consumption. The fish dish was out of this world! And the ambiance was great. Lovely music and each plate / bowl was a fun piece of art. Six Test Kitchen offers a distinctive dining experience with a nine-course meal prepared by the chef and team in an intimate and relaxed setting. The restaurant features only 12 bar-style seats, creating a casual yet elegant atmosphere where guests can watch the open kitchen and see the chefs prepare each dish. The menu is full of surprises, with dishes like Grassy Bar Oyster with Radish and Charred Cucumber, Smoked Steelhead Trout with Dill and Trout Roe, and Duck Liver Pate with Dark Chocolate. The team is friendly and knowledgeable, with the head chef and staff eager to explain each course. The food highlights the bounty of local farms, including a silky egg custard with corn and smoky bacon.
A key highlight is the wine program, led by the skilled Christian Davy, the Wine Director, who has crafted a thoughtful and impressive selection. Guests can choose between a standard wine pairing and a reserve list, both expertly curated to complement the innovative nine-course menu. Christian’s ability to find rare wines enhances the culinary journey, making each sip an integral part of the experience.
While service is generally excellent, the focus remains on the exceptional food and wine pairings. The dishes are an adventure in flavors, textures, and presentation, with some courses layered and designed to make diners think. The tasting menu offers a variety of flavors, and even those who skip the wine pairing still enjoy a memorable experience. Prices are reasonable considering the quality, and reservations are needed weeks in advance for this world-class, smaller-town dining adventure.
