This is the only winery I come back to time and time again, the wines are incredible and the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. We did the funky Friday tasting for the first time and we thoroughly enjoyed it! We ended up buying 2 of the wines from the tasting menu - a Muscat Canelli (skin contact orange wine) and the Valdiguié Nouveau. Can’t wait to enjoy these back in San Diego! Thanks Thatcher team!
Fantastic winery about 20 minutes from downtown Paso Robles. Lovely tasting room with very friendly staff. The quality of the wine here substantially exceeded our expectations. They are making low alcohol bottlings with both typical regional varietals and unusual options with several bottlings below 14% AVA and many at or below 12%. Nearly entirely aged in neutral oak, the wines are food friendly and focused on allowing the grapes to express themselves. The staff went out of their way to find a bottle in their library of a sold out release. Kudos to Thacher on their service and focus on quality!
My hubby and I went earlier this year, even though we aren't wine drinkers. I chose Thacher Winery as a stop off for our scenic drive through Paso Robles beautiful wine country because of the vineyard history and the Barn. While there we were given a personal tour by Mrs Thacher even though we weren't there to drink or purchase wine.. The scenic setting of the wine tasting area was stunning, and we ended up tasting one of their wines!! We are now Thacher Wine drinkers!!! We highly recommend stopping by.
Staff was amazing, super knowledgeable and welcoming. Loved walking around and seeing the old stables and barn owls!
Chris was knowledgeable and generous!
Such a great venue and the wines/staff are great! Eight of us spend a lovely afternoon yesterday...could not have been better. Thanks!
By far one of the best tasting experiences I’ve ever had!! (And I say this as a Paso resident and industry professional who has visited over 200+ wineries in the US, Europe, and South America.)
The historic property is lovely and the patio and outdoor tasting area is very relaxing, even on a Paso summer afternoon. Perfect for our large group of 6 adults and 5 kids. For families, this is the best winery to visit with littles because they can roam around chasing chickens.
The staff is phenomenal and extremely knowledgeable. Chris really knows his wine and we all had interesting discussions with him throughout our 2 hour visit. And the wines… absolute top notch and delicious!! Our favorites were the Kentucky Ranch White blend (12 different varieties!!), Carigane, and Constant Variable red blend.
All wine enthusiasts, locals and tourists alike, must experience Thacher Winery.
Great experience, loved the wine, beautiful day, light breeze, and enjoyed the chickens too.
We went here on a winery tour and this was our favorite stop of the day! Great tasting wines and a tremendous staff. If you love birds…they have chickens! Also, look in the barn during the day for owls in the rafters! Loved the wines and the overall atmosphere. What an experience!
If you're looking for a laid back wine tasting, this is the place! Kai was so knowledgeable and easy going. Chris, too! Thank you for an enjoyable time!
