Curious how Whalebone Vineyard got its name? When the Simpson family ripped up 10 acres to plant a small vineyard after buying the property back in 1986, whalebones and other marine fossils were discovered! Aside from some great wines and a chill vibe, the real star of the show here is Bentley, bulldog mascot/greeter/overall ham! Bentley memorabilia (signs, statues, wine labels) is everywhere!
Go, go, go to this winery. Old school wine tasting with excellent Staff and outstanding wines. We were last here about 10 years ago and it was great to see that this winery still adheres to its boutique winery standards. I can not say enough good things about are host who was friendly and engaging with us and the other patrons in the tasting room. We used to live in CA and would visit Paso. We were back in the area and decided to revisit Whalbone, so glad we did. Oh and they had Bentley the bull dog and the cats who greeted us when we arrived. Thank you.
Amazing views, wine and company! Bentley and the cats were a welcome addition to our wine tasting! Additionally our server, Kimberly, was amazing! So funny and personable, loved every minute of it! Hope to make it back sometime!
We became members on the first tasting, wines are great, Izzy and the staff are fantastic. They are always a stop for us in Paso
Wine was lower quality compared to others in the area. Service was OK

Beautiful laid back winery with amazing views. The wine was delicious with great service. Hard to get an Uber out of the vineyards in this area because you don’t have service.
Nice place to sit. Very welcoming
Perfect spot for a great glass of Cab Sav in a beautiful setting without all the pretentious crap the other places offer. Walk-ins welcome and Izzy was a great host, super knowledgeable and friendly!
We came for the olive oil but didn't have a chance to try the wine. Relaxed vibe, worth checking out

Best winery ambassador welcome ever. As we pulled up to park, Bentley the bulldog walked out to the front and greeted my party then led us to the Tasting room like a boss. Tasting menu wins the Most Tastes Offered in Paso as i recall a 9+ journey with a super hostess helming a very busy afternoon all on her own. The inside tasting counter is cozy and the outdoor patio offers expansive views of their hillside property. Great tasting cab, zin, and blends with also olive oil and jams.
Lovely array of expertly crafted wines. The Tempranillo rose was phenomenal! Friendly staff and beautiful location.
Such a fantastic wine experience from Gina(she is the best), with delicious Paso Robles wines. Grat service and spot. Will definitely come back. Thank you for a great time ❤?
Great wine, great experience! Izzy is super cool, knows his wine and explains the wines well. Straightforward wines, very reasonable. Bentley the winery dog is quite the host! Very dog friendly.
We had the opportunity to visit the Whalebone Vineyard in SEP_FY2019 and it was an amazing experience.
We did a plant tour and tasted some wonderful wines.
We don't know nowadays, but at that time the "2016 Cabernet Sauvignon PASO ROBLES" was perfect, especially due was a hot summer day.
The land around the Whalebone Vineyard is remarkable, even a simple ride across the roads could be an unforgettable experience.
Definitely, it's a place where we want back.
