I've dined at Cascade many times over the years for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and overall it has usually been a solid experience. One of the highlights has consistently been the warm, friendly, and attentive staff. With the recent change in ownership at Castañoa Resort, there are noticeable improvements around the property—most of them positive. However, my recent experience at Cascade was less impressive. I celebrated a birthday there this past Friday with five guests, and this was my first visit since the ownership change. The interior has been completely updated, but the new design feels less like a cozy cabin and more like a cafeteria. The noise level was high, and the atmosphere felt less intimate. The staff was friendly, but the service was not as attentive or proactive as in the past. The menu felt basic, and several favorites are gone, including the steak option, fried chicken, and the traditional dinner starter salad. We also felt rushed to order, and the server offered minimal guidance on menu highlights or changes. Cocktails took quite a while to arrive and were delivered at the same time as our meals. The server checked in once mid-meal and then returned later with the check. Overall, I wasn't very impressed this time, but I'm hopeful they're still working through the transition and will refine the experience moving forward.

Waiter was nice to apologize for us missing food but there seemed to be no one really running this restaurant in front or back of house. Our first appetizer (one of two items ordered) took 40 minutes to show up, and the rest of the food came out an hour and 20 mins after we ordered in waves of two plates at a time. Two kids in our party got their food last. The lighting was really bright, the food was mediocre once it finally showed up. Maybe it was an off night but can't recommend this restaurant sadly. We've had great meals there in the past but the entire place seems like it's under new, bad, management.

Cocktails great. Service spotty - Wait staff attentive but multiple issues with food arriving to table correctly. Appetizers good and salmon wonderful - but other entrees were not good especially given cost.

Our server Jacob was very nice, very attentive. He offered to split our checks, which was much appreciated. The food was just okay. We had the short ribs, they were tasty but not hot. The mashed potatoes were lukewarm and clumpy. The Caesar salad was okay, not great. If they want people to drive all the distance to Cascade, they will need to up their performance with the food.

The restaurant reopened and was not prepared to serve customers quite yet. Wait times for breakfast lunch and dinner were way too long. Food was missing on the menu and the quality just wasn't what it used to be. We typically love coming there for our anniversary but this year with the changes it lacked depth in the menu selection, service was poor, and taste was lacking for price.

The restaurant is closed for renovation!
It would be nice to mark that on Google Maps.

Fantastic gimme 14 of them, good!!! Just need more restaurant staff. Impossible for one server to hold down a restaurant. But the vibes are unreal! Such a beautiful place! They have goats and the best hiking trails especially to the beach :)) Would definitely be back! And would happily wait! ;)

Friday 2025 September 26. Rode over from Redwood City today with a friend specifically to have lunch here. Sat at the bar around 1:30pm, only one other couple having lunch at a table. Very poor unfriendly service. Asked for light beer and was told they didn’t have light beer only Mexican lager with an impatient eye-roll. Very limited menu. Ordered the crispy fish tacos $27 and so did my friend. Just simply awful, not crispy just deep fried greasy fish on plain tortilla. No follow up from the bar tender. Total bill $65.96. Not going back.

A beautiful restaurant by the ocean. Service is slow and not very efficient. I ordered a burger 🍔, costs $20, it comes with one patty, one slice of lettuce, and cold fries.

Terrible service! Only four out of over a dozen tables were occupied and they still claimed they were busy and did not even wanna serve drinks while we waited.

There is NO brunch anymore!!! Two mochas taking more than 30 minutes and they are undrinkable? Generally, good for lunch and dinner. However it seems they are going downhill on communication. Holiday weekend, Labor Day, and all you have are breakfast burritos? Seriously? With that teaser of a brunch menu still showing? Seems like you are missing the boat. Nice stay in a cabin and no delicious breakfast? Opposite of satisfied right now.

We love eating at this restaurant when we camp at costanoa. Food is good, drinks were great and the service was good for us. We heard they were short staffed. It is always our favorite place to go for our Anniversary.
