Great restaurant. Stopped in for their happy hour and was pleased with a few food items on their happy hour menu. Everything I saw go by me for others looked amazing as well. Walking distance from the train station and along the waterfront right in downtown.

Ayawaska offers vibrant colors and a welcoming vibe, with an enjoyable patio that has almost full shade. The food is absolutely delicious, featuring Peruvian flavors. Dishes like Lomo saltado, ceviche, and pan con chicharron are at the top, along with the Seco de carne, which was so tender with sauce that went perfect with the rice and full-flavored beans. The Seco de Cordero and beef empanadas are also loved, though chicken ones not so much. The scallops appetizer was fabulous, and the RISOTTO AJI AMARILLO Y MEDALLONES had delicious beef and risotto. A beautiful passion fruit pie sounds bizarre but was amazing. Drinks include a variety of interesting tropical drinks, with a favorite being “The Petaluma” cocktail that had a splash of mezcal for a smoky flavor. Service can be impeccable and super attentive, though sometimes drinks may take a while. However, a discount was given without asking due to a wait. For winter, take a wrap as it can be a little chilly near a doorway.
