When we first walked in. We were told to sit down anywhere we liked. When attempting to find a table. All available tables were dirty. The establishment did not appear busy. As we were scoping out where to sit a woman that appeared to be the owner or manager told us to wait and she told the woman that informed us to pick a spot to not tell people that. Then she asked us if a table by the bar would work. We stated yes. It took about 10 minutes for us to get menus. Another 10 minutes for drink and food orders. We waited one hour for cold food to be brought to our table. Waitress walked past our table twice with empty drinks on the table and only refilled them once prompted. At the end the waitress asked us how the service was and we were honest saying that we waited a while for food and she said that’s typical for a Saturday and we stated that’s fine but when our food was brought to us it was cold. She made no comment. Cold burgers, fries and chili. We were excited because of the great reviews but we will definitely not be back.

This place was a gem. Just stopped to get a drink and order the Philadelphia steak soup since other people's food looked so good, and it was probably one of the best if not the best soup I ever had. It also came with corn bread that was just as good. Also great live music and top notch service. Edit: went back for breakfast and everything exceeded my already very high expectations. People that complain about the flavor must have come when there was another chef or just don't know what good food is

This renovated antique restaurant is a back country gem. The food was great with fair prices and the on-site owner was very nice. There is no better for dozens of miles. Stop in if you are biking, hiking or traveling Highway 8.

Oh my gosh! We LOVED this restaurant. We went there to celebrate my in-laws' 52nd anniversary. The food was out of this world, the service (by the owner) was perfect - they even gifted them with a free dessert, personalized just for the happy couple. We will definitely be visiting again.

I have eaten breakfast at Pine Valley House a couple times in recent years. The food and overall experiences I had were excellent. When I went to eat breakfast at Major's Diner across the street yesterday and learned it closed, I was happy to find its food lives on at Pine Valley House. I ordered the Ranch Hand Platter with (Major's awesome) biscuits and gravy. Every bit of the platter was great. My eggs were poached just like I requested, and the side bacon (my order) and sausage (my girlfriend's order ?) were both very good. Two of my kids ordered and loved the steak and eggs, and the bites of their steaks that I tried were tender and tasty. My other son had the PVH Burger with regular fries and also praised his order. All the steaks and burgers were cooked as requested (e.g. medium rare and medium well).Beyond its great entrées, note that Pine Valley House's delicious coffee and spacious, naturally illuminated dining area add a lot to their breakfast or brunch experiences. You won't confuse where you are for Denny's or IHOP!Parking: There are parking areas at both ends of the restaurant.
Major's in sheep's clothing...NO THANKS. Same mediocre food served with Major's extra special crappy attitude.

Excellent place to grab a bite. We were in town from 30 mins away or so and stopped with some family members who recently moved to Pine Valley area. Great cozy mountain vibes atmosphere and excellent food. The waitstaff was kind, attentive and did a great job handling our group of 10, including lots of drinks orders and keeping the kids in the group happy. This will definitely be somewhere we go again next time we are out that way!

I had dinner here with 4 other folks. The meal was delicious but the noise was terrible! We had a hard time making conversation amongst ourselves. As good as the meal was we would probably not recommend it if you need some peace and quiet and want to visit!
