“We had date night last night it was a great time the staff is friendly and the chef comes around to your table to check how the food was and for us it was great Thank you Pine Valley House for a great time”
“We had ice cream cones and they were great! The employees were friendly, but the service was a bit slow. Not complaining because I would come back and appreciate the fact they were open!!!”
“I have been to so many of the "best" Mexican restaurants in San Diego. This one is better than all of them. In dozens of visits, I have never had anything that is less than amazing. I think Veronica may be some kind of magical wizard or something. All served up from a lovely and friendly family with amazing service. Veronica's is worth going out of your way.”
“Friendly staff, good selection of beer. stopped in yesterday after hiking in the snow and enjoyed a irsh stout before heading down the hill. Will definitely be back to try the food.”
“A country restaurant worth a drive. I live in Descanso, which is a little less than a half an hour from Alpine California. Normally mountain towns would not have the caliber of a restaurant like Descanso Junction Restaurant. (I can say this because I've lived in Utah, Colorado, Montana, and other small and large towns in the mountains) -you are lucky if you get a decent pizza. But this restaurant is a gem. The burgers are juicy, the chicken is mouthwatering, and the Jack Daniels tri-tip is to die for. On special occasions, like Valentine's Day, they serve a five star meal planned by Chef CJ. It's worth every dollar. So if you're looking for a rustic, yummy getaway, plan a trip to the Descanso Junction Restaurant.”
“My pup and I took a solo vacation in mid-October in the Laguna Mountains. We stopped at Pine House Cafe for dinner Friday night. I ordered the Quiche Salmon with broccoli and cheddar. (Served with a lovely side salad) It was AMAZING! It was made there by a woman whose name I can not recall, though I think she was probably one of the owners. I ordered a glass of Cabernet. I had run out of cab where I stayed in the lodge across the street. I asked if I could just buy the bottle to bring it back to my cabin. The server said “of course”. Then the woman (owner?) offered me a glass, to go - with the wine to enjoy in style in my cabin. I was amazed at her generosity. Though the wine was from an exceptionally nice winery in Paso Robles, I declined her offer. I was fine drinking fabulous cab in the hard plastic cup in my cabin. The food, service and prices were exceptional. The offer of a “glass to go” was above and beyond. I’ll be back.”
“This place has such incredible tasting coffee in such an unassuming location, it’s insane. My car desperately needed caffeine after a long weekend camping with only cowboy coffee as an option…good for some, not for me. Honestly would camp in this area again just to have their cold brew and espresso drinks!”
