I have to rave about this hidden gem, Mountain View Inn & Restuarant in Piru. Such a cute, rustic and homey atmosphere, wonderful service and fresh ingredients.
Our server, Ana, and the operations manager, Rick, have provided wonderful service and truly made us feel valued and taken care of.
The sous chef, Fabian, even came out to check on us and see how our food was.
Seriously, 10/10 service. I cannot overstate that.

Talk about a hidden gem! From top to bottom, this place is amazing.
My wife and I were camping in the area and decided to go to brunch here. In the middle of a small town that time forgot shines this beacon of hope. The building and grounds are very well kept and are simply inviting. From the moment we walked in the door we knew we had found something special. The decor was a history lesson and very nice... more on that later.

Twenty-two years ago this morning, July 31, 2004, I awoke, alone, in a room at the Heritage Valley Inn, in Piru, CA., with one of the worst hangovers, after many years of horrible hangovers, I had ever had. I had ceased drinking and no longer had any tolerance for it.
The prior evening, after dinner, my soon-to-be-in-laws and I opened a bottle of 15 yr. old single malt scotch. Bob, best father-in-law ever, and I drank most of it, while solving the world's problems. At six...read full review

Mountain View Inn & Restaurant in Piru is a charming, rustic, and homey spot that offers a delightful dining experience. The atmosphere is inviting, with well-kept grounds and decor that tell a story of history and authenticity, including hand-painted murals by local artists and carefully curated furnishings. The staff, including servers like Ana and Rick, are exceptionally friendly, making guests feel valued and cared for, while the owners are genuinely kind and accommodating. Service is top-notch, with staff going the extra mile, such as bringing in fresh produce from nearby groves and ensuring each guest's needs are met.
The menu features fresh ingredients and generous portions. Highlights include the homemade biscuit and jam — a huge, buttery, fluffy biscuit paired with a silky mixed berry jam. The shrimp and grits are highly praised, with a rich, creamy texture made with heavy cream and cheese, and are considered some of the best by those familiar with Southern cuisine. The short rib hash, made with sweet potatoes, offers a perfect blend of sweet and savory flavors, often enjoyed with an over-easy egg. The restaurant also serves refreshing mimosas made with freshly squeezed local oranges at an affordable price.
Guests frequently mention the warm, welcoming atmosphere that feels like visiting family. The inn's history and charm add to the unique experience, making it a hidden gem in the area. Whether for brunch or dinner, visitors are assured of a memorable meal and friendly service, often planning to return whenever in the area.
