We're from the UK on holiday to San Francisco. Decided to explore further afield. Found the new Mecca Cafe. Staff are so friendly. It's worth a visit if you can make it.
Used to live down the street from New Mecca. Came back to the Bay Area from the east coast for a quick work project, and I made the drive from Fremont to Pittsburg because I remember the bean dip being that damn good. Probably passed dozens of other "good" mexican places on the 60-mile drive, but New Mecca is the place we remember most about Pitt. Totally worth the drive!

Normally the food here is great but I had the Carne Asada plate and it contained WAY too much salt. My wife and daughter had different food and they said there's was pretty good.
