My husband and I were craving Thai food one evening and stopped here. We happened to be the only customers at the time, but it was great because the service was excellent and our food came out promptly. My husband always orders yellow curry with chicken (usually Thai spicy but kept it mild this time), and I usually try a variant of fried rice so I decided on the crab fried rice. Both were delicious! The restaurant was spacious, clean, and nicely decorated. This is definitely our new local Thai spot!
Great food! Service was super friendly and quick. We never felt overlooked or forgotten. It's great to have a local spot with great food
Very healthy servings,(to go box) great food, service, had lunch and it was very pleasant and clean!
My wife.
Had a drunken beef , which she thought was fine.
I have the seafood food medley which was absolutely horrible. Everything was over cooked and chewy. I ate one shrimp, one calamari and 2 mussels. It was so bad I asked to speak to the manager and she told me they only cooked them in the deep fryer for 45 seconds. I found that hard to believe and since it was inedible I didn't want to play for it. She said she would talk to the owner and came back about 10 minutes later and said they would knock off 5% about 2$. Which I found to be an insult. I informed her that I would never eat there again.
I left a 10 $ tip for the server since it wasn't her fault that the cook ruined the dish
Edit. I find your response to be an insult and your unwillingness to accept the responsibility appalling
Really solid Thai place, albeit a little expensive. Even has a few dishes you rarely see in West.
I believe they maybe remodling soon, but either way, ill certainly return!
I ordered Thai Noodles Soup. It was so impressive that the soup clearly tasted like it was not made with seasonings, but was actually made from chicken broth. I am so happy I can find such a good place like this. Highly recommend!

This place is absolutely HORRIBLE.
I give the food a 2.... They definitely shouldn't put photos on their menu, because the food doesn't come out looking anything like it. I'll leave an example below.
Server forgot to put in one of our appetizers entirely. When our food was dropped off, and I mentioned it, the food server got irritated with us for requesting our food, then printed out receipt to bring back and say, "you didn't order it."
Well, we did..... And then I started eating. I asked for "Thai hot" spice level. There was none. Another thing the server screwed up. Which would be ok if he acknowledged ANY of the mess ups.
No one came back to check on us or if our food was ok. It wasn't.
I sat with a full plate of food I didn't eat.
Pricing is WAY OVER what the food and portions are worth.
I overheard our server bragging about how he has his name on his shirt cuz he's worked there for four years.....ugh.
Don't eat here. And DEFINITELY don't order the fresh spring rolls. Why is there so much iceberg lettuce?!?! Where's the fresh greens and cilantro?? What is this??
One thing that should have been a tip off is the fact that THEY SEAT YOU WITH A SERVICE WARNING!!! It's a full three page menu that tells you why you're not allowed to request a refund!!!
Even if you order online, it pops up!! So let that be a warning!
I ignored it, like an idiot.
Do yourself a favor and don't go there.
Pics included are what they "offer" versus what you get. Second photo is day old leftovers but you'll still notice there is NOTHING GREEN OR FRESH like in their menu photos. Also, same photo in their ACTUAL menu. Their menu photos do not reflect the dish you are ordering!!!

There was just another party there. Food was ok, but 8 Shrimps for about $27 was a little bit too pricey.
Parking: There are other shops around the parking lot. So depending how well those shops are patronized, parking to the restaurant might be not as easy.

Edit: Response to owner's reply--
I'll edit my review as much as I want, thanks. Nothing personal here, sorry you're taking it that way. The only thing that made my day unpleasant and feeling bad was your food. I doubt everything is prepared fresh. I can taste fresh, and the food I was served that day wasn't. For you to imply I work for the competition (there's only one other restaurant in town that serves Thai dishes, afaik) is insult to injury. I don't. No, this was a genuine bad review for genuinely bad food. Maybe you guys were having an off day, I'll give you that. But to imply that I'm here to trash your business for any other reason than it was overpriced and underwhelming is a slap. If I was trying to sabotage (I don't need to) I'd mention another restaurant name, and I wouldn't advise people to learn how to cook Thai themselves. Duh. Read the original.
The details about dishes were accurate. Anyone that thinks curry powder belongs anywhere near Thai food doesn't know how to make it, including your cooks. I said SLIVERS of shrimp, meaning they were small. Y'all butterfly the shrimp and it was a small amount compared to the bland stuffing of the spring roll. Anyway. I'll repeat: hope you get better, and your paranoia subsides.
I thought about revising bc it did feel harsh at first, but deserved. Now I'm def leaving it up.
Original review:
This ain't it chief. Man I had higher hopes for this spot. After two years gave it a go. I fig'd it would be at least average 'Thai' in a small town. Nope.
Ordered takeout for my visiting parents. Dropped $90 with tip on spring rolls, papaya salad, pad gai, yellow curry, and pineapple/sticky rice for dessert. Every single dish was sub-par at best. I've eaten a LOT of Thai food including in Thailand, and, of course I expect Americanized versions of everything here. CA native. But this was straight up BAD. Like, wholly regrettable. I hate leaving reviews like this because I know the struggle in the restaurant industry, worked in it for years. My only hope is it makes them better. Thai Unique needs to step it up in a major way if they want more business than clueless locals and hit-n-split tourists. The 'local guide' reviewers raving about this spot have no idea what real Thai food is.
Spring rolls: baby-arm sized, overstuffed with bland green lettuce and filler. Only slivers of shrimp. Not fresh, no flavor. Both sauces tasted canned and way too sweet. I don't know how you f up peanut sauce, but they found a way.
Papaya salad: It was a toss-up btw this and the 'curry' for worst dish. Sickly sweet, soggily sitting in a pool of juice with flavorless tomato slices and waaaay too much garlic. Like it had been made the day before. Could barely tell it was papaya. Yuck.
Yellow Curry: The pièce de résistance. Curry powder. Enough said.
Pad Gai: wide rice noodles with chicken. The Okayest dish of the meal. Noodles were overcooked and dissolving. Seasoning was passable, still lacking in flavor dept.
Pineapple w Sticky Rice: This was subbed for mango, which they were out of. More like sweet rice soup with pineapple chunks, that were miraculously not from a can. If 'meh' was the sixth flavor, this would be it.
Dropping close to a hundo on such abysmal food obv left a bad taste in my mouth. Needless to say, won't be returning unless they blow it up and start from scratch. As in, make your food from it. You're better off buying a cookbook or two, watching YT and learning to cook Thai. Get better Thai Unique.

Thai Unique is an amazing restaurant. I've had Thai cuisine at many restaurants and Thai Unique is one of the best at which I've ever dined. Friendly staff, great atmosphere, and wonderful food. A valuable jewel found in gold country...
