Came for my hubby's birthday as he has been coming here and enjoying this restaurant for years....well not this day. We were seated for a party of 10, given glasses of water that smelled like fish. We were served sporadically. Our sever seemed more interested in socializing with his co-workers than working at his job. He even forgot to enter my husband the birthday boy's food order...my husbands meal came as the rest of us were finishing our meal. We had to ask for silverwear, napkins, water, and the check. The server left every plate on our table, never came by to pick up used and empty dishes, we had a lot coming with a party of 10 and ordering appetizers, drinks and entrees....I had to buss our own tables to make room for the balance of food. Again, a lot of this seemed to have to do with our server being more interested in socializing with his co-workers. The restaurant is ran down, smells of old dirty carpet, the bathroom is beat up, had a screw in the door slide to close it becase the door was broken so instead of fixing it with a new replacement lock, they put a screw in it. I can't imagine what the kitchen looks like. Oohhh and when it came time to cut my husband's birthday cake, he gave me a dirty used kitchen knife to cut the cake with....what?! Omg, hot mess. We paid our bill, including a mandatory undeserved tip. I hope hubby doesn't want to go back again, I know I don't, yuck! The rest of the people in our party also agreed, service and food was subpar.

First time in my life trying sushi with beef and lobster. Definitely an interesting mix of flavors to try but although they seperatly tastes great, I wouldn't order the same thing again and would stick to the classics. Everything on the menu is delicious and worth a try. Food 10/10, however very slow service which is why I'm giving it 4 stars. Would go back again but just not go hungry because the wait may be long.

Kobe Japan Pleasant Hill offers delightful sushi experiences. The Rainbow roll was exceptionally fresh and delicious. The service, particularly from the Asian lady, was impeccable and added to the overall enjoyable dining experience. I really enjoyed my lunch time here.

Undoubtedly the worst experience ive ever had from Kobe, which is my gf and I's favorite spot. When we got there, it was empty with only a group of two people eating. We were seated, but not given a menu and water for 15 minutes. I was there with my mom, my brother and my gf. When we were finally ready to order, my mom ordered first and so on. The thing that really pissed me off and made me not want to go back to this place is how we waited 1 whole hour to get one of our food. The rolls me, my gf, and brother came out fine. But the roll that my mom ordered first was no where to be seen. Our server never even checked up on us. I finally got his attention and he told me he never wrote down the order! The first person who ordered was my mom. HOW? How do you forget a persons order or at the very least not check up on the customer. What made it infuriating was how we all didnt eat much because of waiting for our mom, which all made us lose our appetite. I dont think i will go back to this place again. The atmosphere was good otherwise and the food too, sucks it got hard bc of the wait we had.

This "volcano roll" was the strangest thing I've ever eaten. It was, without exaggeration, about 40% panko by volume. It's like the person who made it had never actually seen sushi before, only heard vague rumors. It was also almost completely flavorless, even though it was supposed to be spicy. We also had sake maki, which was poorly put together but at least not buried in panko, and chicken kara age, which was tough and a little bit sour. There are plenty of excellent Japanese restaurants in this area. This is not one of them.

Came here for Valentine’s Day. Dinner. It’s a Teppanyaki place. Food was really good. The guy cooking it at the table was new, but the show wasn’t as elaborate as I thought it was going to be. The food was very good and I guess that’s the most important part. The place needs some remodeling and updating but it’s a nice place and it’s way less ghetto than Benihana.Vegetarian options: They serve grilled vegetablesParking: There’s a parking lot but it’s pretty full all the time

This is maybe my favorite restaurant ever. When I lived down the street, I would go 2 to 3 times a week. Now that I live about 45 minutes away, I still go at least twice a month. The service is so great, and I love chatting with the staff here, the sushi is some of the best I’ve ever had, and it’s especially great considering the price. The drinks are very fun and unique and I feel like there’s a great selection of options every time I go, despite how often I’ve been there. They regularly change out their specials, and the wait is never too bad. Also, there are three different sections at this restaurant, so you can either sit at the bar, at the cooktop tables, or at traditional sushi tables, so there is always a great atmosphere no matter what occasion you’re celebrating. I cannot speak highly enough of the service, attentiveness, quality, food, and atmosphere, and I hope to return to this restaurant many times in my future.Parking: Can be very busy but there’s a street behind it that’s free and is rarely full.

I don’t know if we were ignored or thought of as poor but I haven’t experienced such horrid service before. The food was great. We wanted more but our server never talked to us. Best to be old and white if you want prompt service.

Underwhelming food for the prices they charge. $27 for a bento box, just ok at best. I ordered tempura udon soup. It had broth, udon noodles and 2 pieces of broccoli with tempura shrimp on the side. That's it. For $17 soup I expected a bit more than that; maybe more veggies? Service was flat and not friendly at all. I even heard our neighboring table's server tell the customer that their infant boy looked like a girl, TWICE!! I guess some servers just don't get it. We will be dining elsewhere.

Great neighborhood spot that's like 3 restaurants in one as it features a Benihana style grill section, a traditional sushi bar section, and a bar section. I like to sit in the bar in the hopes of getting one of the best servers I've ever had at any restaurant, Tien. This guy is incredible. He remembers my name every time I go in, regardless of how long it's been since my last visit. He's all over your orders, keeping your sake hot and your spirits up. His only problem is that he's usually practically by himself working the bar and serving all of the bar customers. Good luck getting any help from the rest of the staff. I wish I could give my entire tip to Tien directly because he's the only one that earned it during my last time in. Otherwise, the food is always awesome. I was with friends recently and we all agreed that we'd never had a bad meal at Kobe ever! Which may not sound like the highest of praise, but considering how many times I've frequented this place, it's really an achievement. It's my one of my go-to restaurants. Thanks again Tien!

Good drinks and veggies. Wasn’t a fan of fried rice & steak. Would rate a three but the Brussels were crazy fresh ✨
