I love this store. I get to shop the things I want and I get my fav Indian snacks too. I love their service, people are very pleasant, full of smiles and you get help immediately. I remember there is a guy in soccer jersey, I didn’t catch his name but I get to talk soccer while billing out.

What great service. Shirisha has served us about dozen of times. For a small beautiful restaurant the customer service is beyond. She always smiles and even knows customer by names at times and she knows what foods we prefer. She is one of the best customer service person I have in small indian kitchen. Family owns retails and food business and we have build tons of restaurants including Indian.

Keep up the good work, the personal touch and good food SVGG food gets 5 star in my book .

Food is good but people in the restaurant area are very rude and cunning so would not like to go. Wish they understand how important its to talk nicely with people

Extremely disappointed with my experience. I ordered the SVG Thali for $14.99 plus tax, expecting a proper South Indian thali with a good variety of dishes. Instead, I was served only rasam, sambar, dal, and a single curry. The quantity and variety were nowhere near what was displayed or what I expected for the price.
What made this even more frustrating was that I could clearly see other curries, including okra and several side dishes, on display, yet none of them were included in the thali. It felt misleading and poor value for money.
To make matters worse, the food tasted very bad. The rasam, sambar, and curries lacked flavor and tasted bland and unappetizing. For nearly $15 plus tax, this was nowhere close to the quality or variety that should be offered.
I left feeling disappointed, frustrated, and honestly angry that I paid so much for such a poor meal. If you’re advertising a thali, customers expect a complete thali experience—not a few basic items thrown onto a plate. I would not recommend this place based on my experience.

I am extremely disappointed with the experience I had today.
I purchased a curry for lunch, but the portion I was given was unreasonably small. When I raised this with the staff member, instead of handling the concern professionally, she responded rudely and dismissively. I then asked for a refund, which was refused, and there was no apology or any genuine attempt to resolve the issue.
As a regular customer, I have always appreciated Srini’s friendly attitude and the way he checks on customers. Unfortunately, the behaviour of some staff is completely opposite to that standard and is damaging the relationship this business has with its customers.
Poor portioning is one issue, but rude service, refusal to address a genuine concern, and lack of basic courtesy are unacceptable. This kind of behaviour reflects badly on the business and should not be ignored.
I strongly urge Srini and the management team to look into this incident seriously and take appropriate action with the staff involved. If customer concerns continue to be dismissed in this manner, I will have no choice but to consider escalating the matter through appropriate consumer channels.

I usually only get a few things and they're all great. Onion samosa, masala vada and potato masala. Good stuff.

Very disappointing takeout experience. The food tasted stale and spoiled, was clearly not fresh, and ended up in the trash. I cannot recommend this place and won't be ordering again.

The grocery store is spacious and clean which is already an upgrade over other Indian stores. Their veggies are fresh and do not get spoiled even after a week in the fridge. They also offer a wide variety of South Indian products from dhotis to Kondapalli dolls. Everything is fairly priced and their staff is always helpful. I also love their restaurant. Their all vegetarian menu is full of many healthy options and the service is quick. Food is always yummy and doesn’t give me reflux. We cater from them exclusively for all our functions. Their dosa parties are also a great option if you have more than 50 people. They also give $5 off in the restaurant for every $50 spent in the grocery store, so I eat there after every shopping spree. Don’t forget to try the sugar cane juice and free masala chai. 💯% recommended!

This is for the grocery store. Everything is overpriced here compared to other Indian grocery stores in Pleasanton. But the quality leaves much to be desired still. I purchased a bakery item based on the product photo on the wrapper, but when I opened it, what I found was a cheap knockoff. When I brought it up with the owner, he said he will inform the supplier and moved on nonchalantly as if it's not his problem, saying he is not the producer. A decent customer oriented store would have owned up to the issue and offered a refund, but no, not this place! I hope they take customer service more seriously and also make their prices more competitive. The location is central and could use a better Indian grocery store.

Even though this shop has a good selection of groceries, they do not treat customers well. Outside the shop, a sign promises 'free chai.' However, once I was done shopping and asked the cashier for a tea cup, she told me to go get it from the restaurant lady. Asking a restaurant worker for a free tea cup is awkward and creates an uncomfortable situation for shoppers. Please either remove the 'free tea' advertisement from the front of the shop or provide the cup directly at the checkout counter after a grocery purchase
