Nice little spot in Pomona's famous downtown district. Visited on Mother's Day last month. Friendly service (and owner); cool mimosa sampler; very tasty authentic food. Enjoyed our first, but not last, visit to Hilltop

POPCAAN IN THE BUILDING! Thank god for this place because I felt right at home. The music, energy, vibes & food was ON POINT. Tropical vibes in P-TOWN!

I don’t really post reviews but this restaurant was great. I liked the atmosphere, it was clean, the service was good. The waitress was pleasant and the food was delicious. This is a casual place, and for the amount of food that you get, the price was really good. I would recommend.

Delicious food. Had the brown stewed chicken with spinach and rice and peas with a beef patty and the mango ginger drink 🤩… it was soooo Goood! I need this in Seattle (took pictures after started eating)

The place seemed very inviting but the guy on board this morning had absolutely terrible service. His stale unfriendly & unwelcome attitude was extremely uncalled for and unprofessional. I was there to pick up a DoorDash order and as a driver it was very hurtful to be mistreated by staff of a merchant. Also need to work on better packaging for delivery orders. The guy was sending the bag out completely opened no tape, sticker or staple to secure the bag closed and no sticker sticker seal over the drink. When I asked him about it he rudely cut me off and said that’s how they send their stuff out smh he really made me never want to pick up here again. Horrible service especially towards a driver

We love the Hilltop. It as close as it gets to eating in Jamaica. The beef patty is the best. The jerk, the oxtail is very authentic and delicious. The store is very convenient to get all your Jamacian groceries to make your own recipes. I'd give 5 stars but our last trip the servers were new and really struggling. We brought guests to try the restaurant and their order was wrong and they were disappointed.

Absolutely not, this place is not authentic carribean or Jamaican. Very expensive for what you can make at home or might as well put that money into your gas tank and drive to La for something authentic n flavorful

Absolutely delicious food with a little market attached so you can take the flavor home! Just please put a foot rest at your bar so I can spend even more time here!

Ginger pineapple drink is stale. Purchased some few visits back and it was stale. Requested a 'stopper/0.5oz sample size' to make sure the drink was not stale as before. Jeffrey the attendant was quite rude about the request; giving me lessons that this will be the only time such sample is rendered. I explained to him that I had to make sure it was not stale and that no previous employee had been rude about it. His response was ' he's there 5 days a week so he knows'. During this purchase, I had already ordered and paid almost $9 for two patties. On average , I spend $100 a month with purchase from the market and restaurant. I found it quite appalling to get such rude comments from Jeffrey so I called to mention it to a supervisor whose name was Veronica. I took my time to explain the situation to Veronica and she hung up the phone. Quite disappointing service.

I had the ackee and saltish and had to wait 40 min ish for my food. It was good but not delicious bc it was really salty. I make ackee and saltish / ate it a ton and it was clear that they didn’t boil it or soak the salt fish over night (eating with grounds foods made it edible) .
The callaloo and ackee was very bland overall ok.
Waffle and chicken was bomb
Curry shrimp was bomb
Festival bomb
