My wife and I stumbled upon this place during our vacation in Westwood. At first appearance, this place looks great. We walked in, shop is cute, sweets look good and service was fine. After ordering a couple fruit scones and mini donuts, we were unpleasantly surprised with the taste. We thought the bakers played a prank on us because it tasted like they swapped the sugar with salt in our pastries. We were too ashamed to say anything, so we threw our fruit scones out and left....read full review
Worst bakery ever. Walked into this place hungover AF looking for a normal chocolate croissant. Dude behind the counter hands me one and goes “new recipe, trust me.”
First bite = pure ghost pepper filling. Instantly sweating bullets, eyes watering like I just got dumped. Started doing that Oscar spicy dance right there by the register while the baker films me laughing. Had to shotgun a pint of oat milk that somehow made it worse. Left looking like I just ran a 5K in a...read full review
Horrible experience at this so-called bakeshop. Ordered Vegan Chai Otmeal and It was horrendous! My boyfriend had a Vetion-Puccino and honestly the milk tasted like It was off at least 2 days. The only nice thing is that one of the workers name Ted gave my 6 month old puppy a Callisto-Cup! WOULD NOT RECCOMMEND.

Claudine Kitchen & Bakeshop is a bright and welcoming restaurant popular for breakfast and brunch in locations like Porter Ranch and Encino. The dining room is casual and friendly, though it can get crowded quickly; wait times for a table are not too long and the host provides regular updates. Ordering is done at the counter and the food is brought to the table, with service generally quick. The menu features delicious food, both sweet and savory, with a nice selection of specialty seasonal treats. The bakery section offers pastries that look really good, and they make and sell their own Lot 21 Hot Sauce.
For breakfast, standout dishes include the truffled mushroom toast, which is perfectly seasoned, the flaky and tasty breakfast croissant, and the really delicious vegan oatmeal. The breakfast burritos and tres leches French toast are also fantastic. Other popular items are the avocado toast, the sample breakfast, and quiches. For later meals, the juicy and well-seasoned burger and the bright and refreshing Golden Beet & Citrus Salad are thoughtfully put together. The soup of the day, like the Clam Chowder with Salmon, is comforting and flavorful. Drink options include a good vanilla iced latte, though the vale vale iced latte can be too sweet and heavy on cinnamon, and a matcha latte that some find overly sweet.
The restaurant offers vegan options and is a nice place to meet friends or bring out-of-town guests. They also provide an excellent full catering service for events, featuring platters, table décor, and servers, with menu items like sandwich platters, pesto pasta salad, and cabbage salad. Portion sizes are perfect and prices are reasonable, making Claudine a solid spot that quietly earns your trust.
