“This is a small cozy dessert place that has Japanese shaved ice with ice cream in it. They’re known for their polar bear design and a small cup of strawberry syrup that you can pour over. This was very good, simple, and refreshing we will be visiting again.“

“Yum!!! Our group of 6 shared one Chocolate Banana Bingsoo after an all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ dinner, and it was the perfect size and sweet treat to end the night. Great balance of light, cold, sweet, and salty!
Line was out the door, and inside was very busy on a Thursday evening around 8/9 PM.
Would highly recommend for dessert!“
“We came here because we wanted to try something new, we got some Basque cheesecake, milk tea boba, and unique mousse flavors. 5 of us shared everything and we still had leftovers, then my son won at the claw machines ^_^ it was the perfect sweet spot for after dinner 👍🏽👍🏽“

“The cookies are hit or miss most of the time. However, the staff here is always ( well almost) so friendly and kind. I don’t visit as much as I’d like because it’s cost prohibitive. And well id most likely gain too much weight if I enjoyed these more often.“

“Somisomi is a great spot in a busy Mira Mesa strip mall, known for its smooth soft serve and warm, chewy taiyaki (fish-shaped waffle).
We spent $15 for five flavor-filled taiyaki (Nutella, custard, and sesame) and a cup of their beautiful purple and green ube/matcha soft serve. The taiyaki had a thin, crisp outer crunch and moist inner dough, while the tall swirl of soft serve was smooth and creamy.
The service is friendly and efficient, and they keep the line moving. Note that while there's plenty of free parking, the entire mall is very popular and often busy.
A highly recommended, semi-sweet treat for family and friends!“

“I'm retired but I like it more than others because the service here is fast and they always have cookies available
Parking: I think it's okay except that there are more businesses and a restaurant on one side and it takes longer but it is very big“

“My favorite place to get caneles! The original and chocolate flavors are both really good. I tend to get a basque cheesecake too! Sooo good and lots of great flavors to choose from. Love stopping here for a sweet treat on my way home from work. The owner is always so sweet and welcoming too!“

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
If you’re a matcha lover, Matcha Cafe Maiko is a must-visit! The quality of the matcha here is outstanding — rich, earthy, and perfectly balanced without being too bitter. Their soft serve and parfaits are beautifully layered and full of authentic flavor. You can really taste that they use premium Uji matcha from Japan.
The café has a calm and cozy vibe, perfect for enjoying your drink or dessert while relaxing. The presentation is always picture-perfect, and the staff are friendly and patient, even when there’s a long line (which there usually is — it’s that good!).
If you’re new, try the matcha float or the signature parfait — both are amazing! A true gem for anyone who appreciates real, high-quality matcha. 🍵💚“

“There are more Phoenix Desserts in the LA areas that I've been to before. Very happy to find this one in San Diego. It's a small shop with limited items and a few small tables inside.
I always like their mochi and their custard with different flavors. They're all delicious especially if you have a sweet tooth.
There are a few HK street food and a few cold dishes available. The cold tofu platter, the chicken wings, and samosa are all good. The curry fish ball is a bit disappointing and wish they use the white fish balls that are not fried.
Be aware they only get shipments from LA on certain days, so they can run out of certain popular desserts. It would be nice if they open more locations.“

“This spot is a Convoy St. favorite! I’ve tried their shaved snow and ube mochi waffle creation — both were delicious. The ube soft serve was particularly tasty and my group’s favorite.
The staff are friendly and prepare the desserts fresh and in front of you, which is a joy to see.“
