I have been to various places in the South, and I have experienced the various styles of BBQ. I have to say, Smokin J's BBQ gets it right!! I am not a fan of smothering meats in Sauce and calling it BBQ. I believe BBQ should speak for itself, and let the consumer decide if and how much BBQ sauce they want. Their meats need no sauce to enjoy. I had the brisket, and it was simply amazing. Literally melts in your mouth!! I am not a fan of the slaw; I prefer a sweeter take...
Great BBQ place in Poway. Service was helpful and friendly. We ordered brisket, pulled pork and burnt ends, potato salad, beans, Mac n cheese, and brisket chilli. Everything was delicious. We ate outside under umbrellas. They sell their rubs and BBQ sauce too in gift shop too. We'll be back.
The best BBQ I’ve ever had! The chicken is absolutely amazing, tender and full of flavor, but honestly everything on the menu is outstanding. The sweet potato fries are also worth mentioning, perfectly crispy and delicious. The location gives you a real American experience, with simple wooden tables outdoors and the chance to see how the BBQ is made right there.
