Strad Meadery was a great place to visit. The mead was extremely good, purchased a bottle of Cranberry. The staff was friendly and very informative. We had a great conversation, Definitely recommend.

It's one of the best meads I've ever tasted! The owner is so kind and let me sample them before I bought a bottle. I bought one of the pomegranate and cranberry, so delicious! I am looking forward to blackberry and dragonfruit when available!

But I am biased.

I traveled up to rancho from modesto to go to strad. The Pam mead from the tap was really quite good. So I bought a bottle to take home. On opening the bottle 24 hours later I found the bottle had turned. The sent of vinegar was apparent from the popping of the cap. On tasting it was a sweetend vinegar with none of the joys from the privious nights tap tasting. It was good from the tap but a $20 bottle of sweetened vinegar was just a killer. Just disappointing

Showed up today at 3 (posted opening) and waited until 3:15. Called multiple times, phone is disconnected. Can’t find this mead bottled anywhere, and if I can’t get it at storefront where am I supposed to buy it? We love this mead, but business is sadly unreliable.

Got a bottle of mead here awhile back. Industrial park storefront is seriously lacking, as far as a public space goes. Looks cheap and tacky. Only Pomegranate on tap, which didn't taste very good imo.Would not recommend. Better to order from out of state.

Strad Meadery is part of the Barrel District and must to stop by. We came by pretty late at night and it was empty but I guess it was pretty busy earlier because the Mead-tender had to bottle our mead fresh since she sold out of the bottles she premade for the day. I did get her name but the woman behind the bar was a delight. She offered so much knowledge of the process and was very informative. I've never had mead and found out it is fermented honey and more like a hard cider than wine. They source their honey from Woodland and Fresno. She even gave us a sample of honey they use. We got the flight, I was a little bummed they didn't offer very many flavors to choose from but was told they had a huge batch of their base fail and they had to toss it leaving them with not very many options. Which I get, stuff happens so I can't dock them for that. We did get traditional, pomegranate, blanc, hard cider and mix of traditional and the hard cider. I really enjoyed them all. It was like a sweet version of a basic hard cider with a hint of sour. At the end we opted for a bottle of the Pomegranate mead to take home but now I'm wishing we got some traditional too. Just another reason to come back I guess. They did say give them a month to get their new batch made so they can have more flavors on tap, so in a month we'll be back. Overall it's a really cute spot with good drinks! And the back story is a heartwarming. Mr. Strad used his retirement to build this business and he recently passed so his employees are keeping his dream alive.

We set out originally with the intention to land at a winery for the afternoon. Instead we came across Strad and felt like we needed to try as meaderies are few and far in between in the area. We were not disappointed! The location is unassuming from the outside, positioned in an industrial park near the Folsom Canal. The interior was surprisingly quaint with a lot of character and a good mixture of indoor, outdoor, and bar seating. The staff was very friendly and down to earth and gave us a thorough rundown of the local events happening nearby for Halloween festivities. The Mead itself was delicious, full of flavor but not sickeningly sweet. We got flights (for a good price, $10/flight) and sampled the original, pomegranate, yuzu, and strawberry jalapeño. The yuzu was an easy favorite, very unique flavor and a perfect balance of sweetness. The strawberry jalapeño will kick you in the teeth but in the best way, especially if you are a whiskey fan. Overall I'd highly recommend stopping by if you are up for trying something a little different, you won't be disappointed.

So sad they were not there. Drove 4 hrs to share my mead and try there's. When I arrived there were 2 guys there also with some amazing honey, they were also there to share. Another couple showed and were there to buy mead. Said last time they came there was only pomegranate for sale. So I guess Strad missed out on customers, to try some amazing mead and some great honey. Hopefully they caught the hunt.

Strad Meadery presents a unique take on alcoholic beverages, with their own crafted mead stealing the spotlight. My initial introduction at a local beer festival left a positive impression, igniting my curiosity to visit their taproom. The concept of offering mead to-go in growlers or enjoying a drink on-site is certainly appealing. However, my visit turned out to be a bit of a letdown. The taps didn't maintain the chill factor, resulting in lukewarm mead that didn't offer the refreshing experience I had hoped for. While I acknowledge that this could have been an isolated incident, it did dampen the overall experience.Despite this, I'm open to giving Strad Meadery another chance. The uniqueness of their offerings and the potential for a more satisfying visit make me inclined to revisit before finalizing my opinion. For now, I'd rate my experience at a solid four stars, with the hope of a more enjoyable visit in the future.

Great service, delightful meads in a very cozy place. One can bring food in if they want. I did as I hadn't had dinner and didn't want to taste meads on an empty stomach. Loved the descriptions of what we were drinking. We tasted 5 meads, but only 3 were available for purchase to take home. I'd go again, but maybe after it cools off. It was so hot inside. The tables outside were in the blazing sun. Oddly in the parking lot where are cars were when we left were shady and had a nice breeze.

Excellent selection of meads. Not tried it before, give it a try!

First had Strad mead at our first Renaissance faire. Then again at another renaissance fair. Then we found it at Whole Foods once, and it was like finding liquid gold! Not sure of the name of the woman behind the counter, but she was so sweet. We met another couple at the counter who were also very sweet. No food, but would like to return to an event or something! Seems like an off-season right now? There was no air inside, but it was still tolerable? The mead was worth it!!
