Hibachi Japanese Steakhouse

On September 8, 2025, I went there and ordered an early bird set meal and an assorted tempura set. Everything was fine at first. However, after the chef finished the teppanyaki cooking, I pointed out to him that there was still a prawn left on the grill. I didn’t want the food to go to waste, so I reminded him.

To my surprise, he twice tried to toss the prawn directly into my mouth, telling me to “open wide.” The first time could still be taken as a joke, but the second time felt somewhat insulting. On top of that, he missed both times, and the prawn ended up being wasted anyway.

In fact, the chef could have simply placed the prawn on the plate—couldn’t he? In the end, I did not leave the suggested 18% tip, but only gave $10, which I intended for the other servers who were polite and professional.

This place was AMAZING!!

To begin, my mom and I did not make reservations (I fell asleep at place and forgot :( ) but when we showed up, there was a short wait. The service was very great, Jonny, our table man, was soo patient and very nice. I had numerous questions due to my first time attending, and he answered everything respectfully, even when he didn’t know 100% he took the time to double check, while also being stacked with other tables in the restaurant.

Our chef, JIMMY 🤩🤩, was amazing. He is so funny and also gave us great recommendations on places to try in Palm Springs. He cooks the food to your personal liking and does not miss!!

The food overall, was great. The combos can be mix and matched, just ask for it. I also got sushi, and the sushi was delicious.

Will definitely be adding this restaurant to all my future trips whenever I visit Palm Springs.

Designed along Benihana Restaurants. We sat at the bar rather than the tables but could see and hear people and the chef having fun. Good food, drinks and service.

This place was great at first but then got worse. The wait was about 20 minutes, which isn’t too long. I came with a party. They separated us between tables. Then when we told the manager, he said he would fix it but he didn’t. The server had a bad attitude. The chef didn’t throw food into our mouths or do tricks with his spatula. They got my order wrong, and when we told them about the order they didn’t even fix it. When it was time to pay, the restaurant put food that we didn’t order on the receipt. I would not recommend this place!

ROACHES! I went with a group of co workers and it started off well. A roach then crawled up onto the table while the chef was cooking. After looking at the underside of the table, you could see a bunch of antennas moving/sticking out of a crevice. The manager did not seem phased asked if we wanted the food to go. If that’s going on at the table, what does the kitchen/storage area look like?

The service is fantastic and the food is ohh so delicious! The chefs put on a show for their customers and are truly talented in their craft. Whenever I'm in Palm Springs, this is one of my spots!
The restaurant is very clean, and the asthetics of the place is appealing. They use red throughout the restaurant because it stimulates appetite. Love it!!

Very mediocre. The teppanyaki chef was very good, but the rest of the service staff was absolutely terrible. The quality of the food was ok, but there are definitely better hibachi restaurants in the valley. For the few extra dollars at Kobe or Mikado, you'll get a much much better experience.

The food and service are great. The price is very reasonable.
