We did the trails first and honestly, they were the kind of beautiful that makes you feel like you did something good for yourself. So we were already in a good mood by the time we landed at Nelson’s for lunch.
The views do not disappoint. We were seated outside and had an amazing view, which was so relaxing. We kicked things off with margaritas, Arnold Palmers, and Bloody Marys while we took it all in. Good drinks, great scenery, even better company. The service was great too, our server was nice, personable and attentive.
The food was fresh, good quality, nicely put together. Our whole group just felt like it was missing a little something in the flavor department, and we all had different dishes, so it was just a common thread we noticed. Not a dealbreaker at all, more of a “this could be a five star experience with a few small tweaks” situation.
Would we go back? Absolutely. The whole vibe makes it worth it.

I love this restaurant — it’s always delicious and a very pleasant place to visit. And the best part is the view! I recommend choosing a table on the veranda. Even though it can be windy there in the winter, sometimes you can see whales!

5 stars for the food, the view, and especially the management! The scenery here is unmatched, and the coastal cuisine was fresh and flavorful. Our server Nayelli recommended that we order the Ceviche, lobster roll, BBQ Brisket Sandwich and key lime pie everything was 10/10 thank you Girl!! Javier the manager is a true professional, very attentive to detail and made our meal feel special. It's the perfect spot for a relaxed but high-quality dining experience. Will definitely be back!!!

Very nice experience to come to. The resort is set up on the cliff yo over look the ocean. You can see dolphins and whales. The food is great and the service is fast and friendly. The menu has a variety of options to choose from. Worth the visit if you come to this side of LA

We love Nelson’s. Been coming here with my family for over a decade. Food is consistent, flavorful, and well-portioned. Service is top notch and the views can’t be beat. It’s a gem at this resort.
I appreciated my meal by the fireplace. Service was excellent! Food was fantastic! One must be careful (drive slow) on the route to get to the restaurant but once you're in the ambiance is on point! I enjoyed the foliage and architecture, romance, good wine.

First time at Nelson's but i think i was expecting something more. Waitress, Amanda, was awesome. 3 people in our party wanted the lobster roll and they ran out by 2:30pm. Umm why!? It's the weekend and not very late in the day, just opened about 2 hours ago for lunch. I did enjoy the appetizers a lot more.

We absolutely loved Nelson's! We ate here 3 times during our stay at the resort, and each time was amazing! The service is first class, the food is some of the best I've ever had, and the ocean view and sunsets are spectacular! I saw a few reviews about the service being slow, and I would say it was not the fastest I've had, but the view is so amazing that it was nice to sit for a while and take it all in. And they didn't make us feel like we had to rush out when we finished. Highly recommend!

We had a very long wait, not to be seated but for the server took forever and I got the impression that he was a new hire. He was extremely nice though so it was totally ok. We will definitely go back next time we visit Terranea
