My husband and I visited Theory back in May/June from out of state. We originally planned to get coffee from all of the local coffee shops since we were in Redding for a week. We ended up only going to Theory Coffee because the coffee and treats were amazing. Maybe #1 on our list? Plus the staff were incredibly nice and knowledgeable. Periodically, we will order their beans from online and they still uphold great flavor.

My croissant got a bit burnt, but the green tea latte was good and they have wifi. I worked upstairs, but I didn't stay long, the stools aren't very comfortable.

I honestly prefer this spot over Starbucks or Dutch Bros. It has such a unique vibe, with two floors that mix together in a really cool way. I’ve never tried this shop before, but it immediately stood out. The staff was super sweet and welcoming, and the whole place felt alive and clean. My latte with an extra espresso shot came out to about $10, which I’d say is still pretty affordable considering the quality and fast service. Overall, a great experience and definitely worth coming back.

This is my second theory coffee shop in Northern California that came off as extremely mediocre. No non-fat milk. No large cups of coffee. Baked goods extremely dry. Vanilla donuts dry, super sweet, but not flavorful. Service was fast and friendly. Dining room is outstanding, clean, bright, comfortable.

In theory the coffee is excellent. I wouldn’t know I never got my order. We ordered a large latte and a hot chai. My wife loved her chai says it was wonderful. I was waiting for my latte and as soon as they put it down on the counter a busy distracted construction worker who had been two people in line behind me grabbed it and walked out.

Not their fault. I asked the barista if that was my name she said yes and apologized profusely. She said she’d make me a new drink. So far so good. I’m patient no hurry.

But then she made 12 drinks for the 9 people that were in line behind me. I waited. I stood right next to the counter. I tried to make eye contact. She made drinks and chatted with coworkers. After 15 min I gave up and walked out. Went to Starbucks. I dont like Starbucks. I prefer to give my business to local independents.
