We love to come for our special occasions. Just a hint, don't go to any restaurants on or close to Valentine's day. Food comes out slower than normal, and the service is bogged down by the number of customers. We loved the entrees and the desserts were over the top fabulous!! Can't say enough good things!!

Was at my friends bridal shower and the female waitress who had a tattoo on her right arm did not seem like she wanted to work there. She just looked like she was tired of her job, straight up. We couldn't find her several times she just disappeared. She literally would lifelessly trudge in and out of the room lol. Poor lady. We had bottomless mimosas and we would have to ask her several times to fill them. We ran out of guava, orange and pineapple juice and hinted several times to get the juices refilled. Never got filled up. I wasn't ready to get my order taken and told her politely to come back to me to which she literally sighed and gave me a look and went to take the order from another guest. Apparently she can't count either because we brought a cake in for the bride and she forgot one piece and we had to share a slice between two people. The food is 2/5. I ordered a salmon Reuben. Literally was a piece of lox, with slaw and an egg smashed between two breads. Fries were overcooked. A friend got the chicken salad and was not impressed. Probably won't return.

Unfortunately this main stay restaurant is closing at the end of February. It was crazy busy tonight but that did not affect service. The food was great as always. My wife had the zarzuela. The broth is special. Somehow they have found away to balance the flavors. I had the halibut. Perfectly cooked with a nice thin crisp skin. Too bad we won't be able to return.

This has been a favorite place for me for over 20 years - so sad to see them go. I think you only have a couple of weeks left if you want to stop by for a visit - well worth it.

I want to write one last review as Chez fades into the sunset . I started with Michael Franks and Robert Bell back in the days of Courtney's. They had three restaurants in the South Bay, Courtney's in Manhattan beach, Courtney's Bistro in Hermosa, and Cafe Courtney's In Redondo (?). Great date places and even then the group was introducing "California Cuisine" to the South Bay. Our family attended opening night at Chez in the plush horse inn and have become regulars ever since. Can still taste the jalapeño sausage and eggs and the original complimentary bread, butter , and bolognese sauce. I encourage everyone to continue the experience with Robert at Mama Taranos up in Pv in back of Bristol farms for stellar and very reasonable Italian food. Much congrats to both Michael and Robert on making the South Bay a dining experience for over 40 years !

The restaurant owners announced they are closing FEB 9th 2020. I don't know why they are closing, they seem to be doing so well with customers. Before they close, the owners will be dealing a farewell tour of sorts, bringing back the most popular menu items and taking requests from patrons. Au revoir!

The food was great. The service was friendly and prompt. Everything was delicious, particularly the octopus appetized, Kung Pao lobster (the spices did not overwhelm the lobster), fish stew, and Brussel sprouts.

Fun place with unique cuisine. And one of the few places that serves Jean Phillipe by the glass!

This place has been on my list for over a year- finally went for brunch and it was wonderful. We shared a few things... chicken nuggets (so good!) & French toast, roast beef hash & cornmeal waffle. It was all great. Service was attentive and place is cozy & cute. Bonus for the great Christmas decor. Loved everything about it and will be back for dinner in the future! Thanks for the great experience.

We attended a dinner talk here recently which may have contributed to the lack of stars. Salmon appetizers, chicken, and even the bread were all delicious, however although the salt added great texture to the salad, it was difficult to finish. We liked the seared and charred tenderloin but were disapointed we couldn't choose our doneness level. The parma chicken was lackluster in flavor, dry, and overcooked and was the least favorite option. On the other hand the grouper was delicious with a crispy skin and tart lemon sauce. The service continued to keep our wine glasses full and made sure we were well kept. Our colleague notes that this is visit might have been an anomaly to their standard. Bottom Line: Loved our waiters but surprised with their salad saltines and pasta.

Parking sub-Terre was good, small room, maybe 65 cap, Bouzy Burger was tasty- cooked Med. Seemed short on staff, not around much, would probably go back....Single entertainer on Thursdays was excellent!

I celebrated my 2nd birthday here! The patio was very welcoming for furry friends and the service was great too I overheard my pawrents say they were very pleased with the lobster grilled cheese and the pancho burger. I even got to try a piece of the lobster - it was my birthday after all!

I ordered the porterhouse steak and I have to say that it was fantastic. One of the best steaks that I have ever had, I literally could cut it with my fork it was that tender, and it was equally juicy and flavourful. The food here doesn't disappoint. I wish they had a stout available, they only have Old Speckled Hen and I would prefer not to drink it. Other than every meal here is quite enjoyable, and the staff here are terrific.

Don't go on a Monday. menu limited to pub fare and $5 burgers cannot be edited. Wait staff not very friendly. felt like a locals club where they treat you differently if they don't know you. definitely not kid friendly
