The food was phenomenal! I was visiting Richmond for a concert and googled soul food. JJ Fish & Chicken was the closest location so we went. From the Richmond Civic Auditorium JJ Fish & Chicken was easy to find. Parking was available at the time we arrived but I can see how it could be a problem on a more active day. So we went there at dinner time and only had to wait for two people, we ordered some fried chicken, shrimp n fys, I wanted seafood gumbo but was told they didn't have any rice. So I got the jambalaya (which cost more) and it guess what, had rice. They were outta some other things as well but how can you be out of rice for one dish but have it in another dish. The neighborhood is sketchy which I guess justifies the thick bullet proof glass walls. We also had to wait 15-20...
Good food when they have it. They NEVER answer the phone. Was enquiring did they have a particular menu item so we coukd order it through Doordash....the last time they substituted our food ofvwhich we did not like. Hence calling ahead to see if the nenu items are available.
