Haters be hating but the vibe and the Al Pastor tacos are great in this street food' stall! The tacos are street style (small) but they were generous with the meat. The al pastor is thinly carved right off the skewer into the tortillas to order. We love that! They will ask you if you want grilled onions and sliced fresh pineapple spining at the top of the skewer. Say "YES" to both and ask for grill jalapeños if you like em. We added our own toppings from the salsa table, sat on stools and watched them work as we gobbled up the tacos. Sitting there, we felt like we were back in Mexico.$3/taco is a little pricy but we'll pay it again.

We just came back from a trip to Mexico and once your tastebuds realize what real, authentic tacos should taste like, it's hard to not be super critical of the Mexican food you try when retuning to the U.S. But I always held out hope! We saw an article about this Tacos El Trompo spot and my husband was doubtful it would live up to the hype, but we went anyway, and we're so happy we did! This little pop up on the sidewalk has the most authentic, tasty al pastor tacos you'll ever have outside of Mexico (at least from what we've tried from SF's Mission St to Richmond)! We were pleasantly surprised to see the rotating spits of glistening meat topped with pineapple above. It's hard to stop eating those little tacos, they're so delicious. Don't forget to add your own toppings! The salsas are pretty legit! We've come here several times and have never been disappointed. Overall 5 stars for the food, but be aware that you'll basically be eating on the loud sidewalk. They do have a table set up and some benches. It can get windy or hot, you never know, so just a heads up on that. The workers are super friendly. Don't forget to tip! Bring cash.

The only things good was the salsa (especially the habanero one) and service was good. The meat is dry, tortilla is dry. I had trompo from El Gordo (SD) and TJ before. This is not good at all to any standard. Hole in the wall sometime is just that, a hole in the wall.

A family member picked up some tacos in my stead so I can only talk about the taco quality. We got asada, pollo, and al pastor. The meat was pretty good! I wasn't a fan of the salsas but the family member really liked them. We both agreed however that the biggest issue with the tacos was the tortilla quality. They were way too hard to chew, the sizes were also freaking tiny considering it's $3 per taco. Tortilla makes up too much of a taco's overall quality so it's a 3 instead of a 4 for us.

Best al pastor tacos, nothing beats getting tacos straight from an actual trompo. Service is great, with fair prices.

The service was outstanding, the atmosphere was intimate, and just an excellent experience overall.
