While looking at the menu, I was pleased to see the low prices for the combination plates. The portions are smaller than other Mexican restaurants in town, so you get what you pay for, I guess. But, this will be my go to place when I'm not very hungry. Good food makes it a good value.
Presidents' Day seemed to offer a lot of closed restaurants but we found Olvera's open. The building is a little older and the initial space you enter seems odd but when we entered the seating area hope was restored! Music played and the booths were inviting to sit and enjoy a meal. The menu was full of tasty choices. We ordered fish tacos, hard tacos (1 chicken and 1beef) and a chili relleno burrito. All were very good! The service was excellent too! Since moving to the area, I have to say this has been the best restaurant that we have been to. Everything had so much flavor. The staff was so friendly and it was a clean, comfortable environment. This is definitely our new favorite place to eat.
