Small-town cafe with lots of regulars, good service, and a solid understanding that what makes an omelet worthwhile is the fillings. Ambiance is unpretentious, even faded. Omelet is stuffed with fillings that taste like they're supposed to taste. Hashbrowns are meh, biscuit is quite good.
I wanted to like Raul's more, but the food just didn't warrant a higher rating. I had chicken fried steak, which was fine but the portion was pretty small. Wife had the turkey, bacon, and Swiss sandwich, which is supposed to be a specialty. Unfortunately the onion was lacking and tomato was missing entirely. The onion rings were good and service was prompt and friendly; I *might* give it another try if I were passing through Rio Vista alone, but definitely won't...
While visiting the area my husband went to our normal place for breakfast and they had gone out of business. W looked in the area and discovered Raul's. Nice variety, fair prices, good food and great service.
