Can’t wait to go back! The food was absolutely delicious and the wine list was huge. We had appetizers, entrées, desserts, and wine, and everything was really excellent. Portions were larger than expected, too. Johannes took great care of us! He and the kitchen were also attentive to my dietary restrictions (gluten allergy). Highly recommend!!
Best possible French food. Great service. Our favorite place to celebrate.

Le Chat Noir is a hidden gem for French food in the IE, a cozy little place on 9th in downtown Riverside. The room is beautiful and intimate, and the food is simply out of this world. Dishes are rich and flavorful, with the escargot very juicy, the filet mignon amazing, and the venison melt-in-your-mouth tender. The vol au vent was a favorite for being flavorful and crunchy. Service is absolutely perfect and wonderful, with a welcoming staff. It is a small place, so reservations help, and you have to call to make them. Expect to pay $100 - 150 per person, especially with a beverage. The wine is great, and the Manhattan is a highlight. Diners recommend the Filet Mignon and the Lamb. Go to Le Chat Noir—it's fantastic.
