One thing to say is that the taste of Ji Rong's rice is becoming more and more average. It may be that too many other restaurants have opened in the past two years. It is so hard to eat in your mouth. Now it is probably not the first choice to have dinner together.

So many great dishes in one spot. Come for the Peking duck, stay for the cold chili chicken, pork pancake, fried pumpkin, and plenty of fantastic vegetable dishes.
Staff were attentive. Restaurant felt clean and well lit although pretty cozy given how many people were dining. Parking lot situation can be a zoo around dinner time, so be prepared to wait.
Parking: Lot fills up quickly around dinner time
Kid-friendliness: Provided high chairs

Delicious food
They tell you that if you want to reserve a table you need to spend at least $400 per table in food. Even though the restaurant was empty at opening that day.
The food and service were good but the business practices are trash

BEWARE: Hot tea is not complimentary compared with in the past at Chinese restaurants. You pay for that kettle of hot tea. The ratio of tea leaves to hot water is bad-not balanced. It’s more water than tea leaves so tea tastes very light.
Either that or it was another table’s tea that they just added some more tea leaves because it tasted very light. Very light But it like it was on its at least second or 3rd brew.
On the pricey side since it got featured at LA18 network I think. Specialty is duck. This restaurant is capitalizing on that being featured on a TV show.
Non-duck dishes are average. On a blind taste test, non-duck dishes tastes the similar as other places that have lower prices.
They do have other dishes. Seafood, poultry chicken, pork, etc.
The young short male server attendant plus the other young female server attendant we had were nice and cool.
We had to wait for my parents and sibling. So it took time for them to arrive. This was our mid-autumn festival celebration. It got ruined.
The a bit chubby lady “boss” is not cool, the other senior staff not cool and not nice. The female “boss” plus the other older staff became a bit passive-aggressive. I think she was pushing the young male server attendant to kick us out even though my parents have not finished eating yet.
The male tall skinny kind of spiky hairdo server attendant acted very rudely. Hence, it’s reflected on this review.
Our group is not majority Chinese and only 2 can speak Chinese. It felt a bit they, the “boss” and senior staff, prefers a group of Chinese speaking customers and big spenders.
The other group behind us were treated a lot better by the “boss” and other senior staff as that group is majority Chinese speaking.
Parking lot is shared with surrounding businesses within the plaza. No problem finding a parking space.

I didn't expect that it changed my opinion of Jirong's dishes. I can only say that they are too unpalatable. The baked pumpkin with salted egg yolk, which I have always liked, did not have any salted egg yolk at all. Instead, it was replaced by a little chili powder. I was speechless! I won’t come here again. The stuffing of Xiao Long Baozi is also very unpleasant and smells like meat.

We are old customers who have been following Jirong for many years. The meal we ordered today is something we have always liked. However, the quality of today’s dishes has seriously declined. The egg yolk powder on the simplest egg yolk pumpkin has been replaced with chili powder. It is a pity that there is one less restaurant in Los Angeles. The eatable restaurant was 90 minutes away today, which resulted in extreme disappointment and blacklisting.
Sold out of the peeking duck. Reserved a duck, overall an okay place to visit.

Great Peking Duck! It's hard to find it with an affordable price. This restaurant also has great watermelon juice, $14 for the whole jug. Nice customer service. Recommended to come early at 11 AM when they just open!

I went to Ji Rong Restaurant today and had a very bad experience. The taste of the food was really unpleasant and not at all what I expected. To make matters worse, the service attitude was very poor and the waiters were unfriendly and impatient. I was very disappointed with this restaurant and will not be returning or recommending it to others.

The food at Jirong Restaurant is very delicious, and the environment is very clean. Today's server, Yuan, was very enthusiastic and had a great attitude. This restaurant is highly recommended and worth frequent visits.
