This French restaurant, tucked away in the Chinese community of Rosemead, is seriously delicious! My family, friends, and I have been here four or five times already. It’s been open for nearly 30 years—older than I am. The owner and head chef are Vietnamese, and since Vietnam was once a French colony, their French cuisine is quite authentic. It's a small family restaurant with a high-end menu. I am very picky about escargots, and La Vie gets it right. This one is a must order. The smoked trout was good, but not a must. The duck is served to perfection - crispy skin and tender meat. We also got scallops and prawns, which were delicious, but the duck was the winner. Entrees come with soup, salad, and coffee at the end of the meal. We couldn't resist the souffle, one of my faves.
