Around 6:30 pm I thought I should give this place a try. The seating host bought us to a table. 10 minutes passed. 20 minutes passed. No one ever came to acknowledge us. I have kids all dressed up for Roseville High School Homecoming. We were just sitting there. The restaurant wasn’t even busy, there were still empty tables. Then I decided to go elsewhere. So I told the seating host, we are leaving because we have no waiter. He gave a thumbs up and said SWEET!

Great food!! Perfect for the Kings Playoff games!! Highly recommend!

Located in the heart of downtown Roseville, Goose Port American Restaurant • Portuguese Roots offers a great experience in a fantastic location with a free parking garage across the street. The atmosphere is modern and clean, with a spacious dining area perfect for stopping on the way to or back from Tahoe. The owner truly cares about delivering a great experience, often introducing himself to tables and treating guests to samples like the absolutely spectacular caldo verde, a Portuguese linguica, potato, and collard green soup. The staff is always friendly, attentive, and on top of everything. Service is good, with servers described as efficient, friendly, and personable. The food is delicious, with menu highlights including pepperoni pizza, pickle chips, loaded tots, asada tacos, sliders, fried pickles, linguica sandwich, and burgers. Drinks are great, coming out fast and actually delicious. While the food is considered standard bar fare by some, the overall experience is excellent. One note: a protein bowl had an unpleasant odor from the garbanzo beans, but the owner’s kindness and generosity made the visit a great experience. Goose Port is a perfect pre-show spot for Goldfield Trading Post, setting the tone for a good night with great drinks, food, and service.
