Celebrating my daughter's birthday at this restaurant- her first time here. A few words about our experience. Our main waiter wasn't very attentive... after being seated for our table- the wait staff did set out the water and menu which was nice but we waited for almost 40 minutes before any server came by to see if we were ready. No smile, no recommendations or small talk to make it memorable. Came earlier than the reservation so we sat at the bar- it was happy hour time so had drinks and an appetizer which was fine. We then sat at our reserved table- water and menus was fast but we sat there about 40 minutes for a server to get to us. Restaurant wasn't very busy at 5:45pm. We asked for more cocktails since it was still happy hour but not until the waiter ( came after 40 minutes) then told us in a very stern way- “Happy hour is only at the bar.” He then said, “OK- go get your drink at the bar.” He then just left the table while my husband and son went to get more drinks/wine. When we did get our food, no one came by asking if anyone would like grated cheese which I believe a good restaurant should be aware that in a service oriented restaurant- right away someone usually comes by quickly asking if fresh ground pepper or cheese for your dish. We for all had dishes that would be enhanced with the extra condiment. Finally our next door diners were offered the fresh grated cheese on their dishes -later also, the elder lady diner then pointed to our table saying “I think they would like some too.” H the waiter We since it was SO late, my son and husband already ate all of their dish! Once the waiter came by and instead of addressing everyone at our table- he only leaned over to my son and ask if there is anything he needed and then left not addressing everyone in our party. The manager Ryon came by after my husband pulled him over telling him our experience. He did then said, “We missed the point on our service and he was going to help”
I had Caesar salad for lunch because it's usually exceptional. It was terrible. The romaine had been cut up & obviously left refrigerated for a long time. It had a bland, frig taste. No dressing. I had to request dressing. And 2-3 croutons. A huge disappointment.
Nice place, but keeps getting more and more expensive. Almost $400 w/tip for dinner for 4 people. Now adding 3% for health benefits for the employees. After all that manager was rude to us because stayed until close.
Caprese salad was amazing and so were the entre`s- portions were large. We sat on the patio. It was very pleasant and relaxing. All of the wait staff were very friendly, professional and helpful. Since when did they stop serving bread...they charge for it now?? Other than that, was a delightful dinner.
This was a Daou wine dinner. The Chef create a superb menu that went well with the wines. Great job
Il fornaio and ataff had wonderful tasting rib wye steak and pasta was delightful 26th anniversary was a 👍 Great Fantastic experience
My friend and I celebrated her birthday over such delicious salads. Service was perfect, the atmosphere was delightful. We were treated so well. Thank you so much!
Lori was excellent and took incredible care of us and made my husband's birthday extra special! Our table for four was in the covered loggia area, tucked away from the main dining area; which was very quiet and allowed us to catch up and talk easily with our friends. The food was delicious. A special night! Thanks Il Fornaio Roseville!
Upscaled fine dining Italian Restaurant. Excellent food, service, with reasonable prices. We'll be back again.
We had a wonderful experience! The food, service and all around experience was amazing! It had been years since I've been there and I/we loved it!

Il Fornaio is our favorite restaurant Food is always great and we love having Lori as our server. She is the best. She is the epitome of what all servers should be. She loves people; goes out of her way to explain any questions or concerns and it's apparent she loves what she does. loves what she does.
Nice to have a real restaurant within the mall vicinity. The place is vaste, the tone sunny and welcoming, the smell is funny and it's there each time I go, it's a bit like a mold smell or rancid milk, I am not sure but you get use to it. They have a real firewood pizza oven. The restaurant has a lot of customers for lunch , more than half full. The pizza are good but this time I started with fried calamari. It was very nice, one can tell they change the oil regularly. It comes with a red sauce without interest, so I asked for tartar or aïoli, but the chef did not want to prepare any, so the staff brought some pesto sauce, and it was very good. I had the seafood pasta, more American than Italian but quiet nice, the shrimps and scallops were not too cooked, so was the mussels and other shells. Good dish, a bit pricey. I finished with the tiramisu, well done, no remarks. They also braught my capucino a bit latter, it must have been prepared earlier as it was almost cold. Staff is polite and efficient, with a certain reserve or distance that I appreciate and find it rarely in the US of A. One of the nice place around, not too expensive and decent. Located just besides Ruth Chris wich is delicious but very expensive.
We returned again from 3 weeks ago, and everything was wonderful as usual. We had a new server, and she was fantastic unfortunately we don't remember her name. The carpaccio was great it was my fiance's first time and she loved it. We will continue to come back to our favorite Italian eatery in placer county
Great food and even better service! Shoutout to Susanne for the top tier care! I recommend the braised short rib and mushroom ravioli and the tagliatelle bolognese, both were excellent with fresh noodles. The moscato was one of the best I’ve ever enjoyed.

Food was very good. Service was quite good. It was very nice they had a personal anniversary card for us. Really the only thing to “complain” about was the noise level. We were in an area that had acoustics that didn't lower the level at all. Not really anyone's fault.
