About Kitakata Ramen Ban Nai - Rowland Heights

Kitakata Ramen Ban Nai is located in an Asian plaza in Rowland Heights. The restaurant is small but wasn't overly crowded or poorly laid out. It was clean. The service was attentive without being overbearing. The staff was very kind and enthusiastic, and the food was delivered fast. The style of ramen served here originated in Japan in 1927. The chashu has a nice richness about it, with a really slick texture and yummy umami. The tonkatsu broth was really deep and very flavorful. The soup is very refined, subtle but definitely full of amazing flavor. The noodles were ok, wavy but soft and a bit mushy. The gyoza tasted like it should, with ginger, garlic and pork. The chicken katsu curry was delightful, with a powerful and sharp flavor and perfect chicken. The Karaage chicken and Green Chili Ramen were delicious with good portions. The kitakata tonkoutsu ramen was super good, with a great portion and insane broth. The miso one is pretty good, and the fried chicken is satisfied too. Restaurants open late, til 12:30 at weekend. Parking can be somewhat tough. A killer kids meal too. 10/10.

I came here for the chashu ramen. I subbed the soup base to tonkatsu. A few things. I liked the chashu. It has a nice richness about it. Really slick texture. Yummy umami. The tonkatsu broth was really deep. It was very flavorful. The noodles were... ok. I like that it is wavy. But it didn't have the chew. I had hoped for more chewiness. Rather, it was soft and a bit mushy. The service was attentive without being overbearing. Just the right level. And the restaurant was clean.
cute interior and great service!! appreciated the unique ramen options, though it was on the saltier side for me.
Was out for a family dinner. Portion were good and food was delicious. Got Karaage chicken and Green Chili Ramen. Definitely a place to go on a weeknight dinner,if you don't feel like cooking.
