I ordered a Chile Relleno with rice and beans.
I’ve had way better in Bakerfield. The Relleno sauce tasted like vegetable soup and was watery, the relleno was flat and not even spicy, the beans were dry, and the rice had no flavor and was mushy. The sauce for the Relleno should not have celery and carrots in it.
The service here is really good though. I just wish the food was as good.

Great food! Great prices! The service was friendly and attentive, adding to the overall enjoyable dining experience. Whether you're craving classic Mexican flavors or American comfort food, Alonzo's Mexican & American Food is definitely worth a visit. This is one of the best pozole I had in my life. It has everything you want in pozole. It was complex, strong, hearty, meaty, and had the right amount of oil. It makes you feel warm and refreshed on a cold day. It tasted like it was stewed for hours and was homemade; I could taste the chili and beef. The beef was so tender and there was a lot of it.
