Great food & excellent service.
Ummmm why Y'all didn't tell me about Calabash?! I'm right down the street and been missing out! Authentic Jamaican Cuisine. Nice atmosphere, great customer service, and music be poppin'. 🙌🏾
Saw this place driving by and decided to stop in, I'm glad I did. The food is great! I got curry chicken, sweet plantains a side salad and Island Punch to drink. The chicken was well seasoned and tender (not the same seasonings as Indian or Thai curries), the sweet plantains were the perfect accompaniment to the savory flavor of the curry chicken, rice would also nice but I can't resist sweet plantains. Calabash Caribbean offers authentic Jamaican cuisine in a beautiful, clean space with a great atmosphere and popping music. Customer service is wonderful, making guests feel right at home for a casual dinner or a special night out. The food is great and flavorful, with well-seasoned and tender meats. Dishes like curry chicken, curry goat with creamy mashed potatoes, red snapper, jerk chicken wings, brown chicken stew, and oxtail stew are all cooked to perfection. Sides like sweet plantains, red beans and rice, and kale with garlic are fantastic accompaniments. The Island Punch is the right drink to cleanse the palate, and tropical drinks top off the meal. Presentation and portion sizes are on point, and the decor is on point, including an adorable powder room. The feel of home cooking comes through in the spices. This location is a go-to spot in Sacramento, and guests will definitely be returning.
