Attended special Row 7 dinner Friday 10/17/25. Superb 10/10! Food was top notch and portions were just right. Swag bag was the cherry on top. Value felt just right for the price - not necessarily a screaming deal, but certainly not overpriced for what was included and the level of execution. Would absolutely attend a special event here again.
Usually I love this place. This was a special menu collaborating with Row 7. Sadly the potatoes and the bbq were overly salted. And the diversity of veggies was disappointing for collaborating with a vegetable grower. Kojinut might not be the best squash, I don't know. For whatever reason, we were disappointed. The sardine plate, salad and appetizers were winners though. I guess we were expecting more from a special dinner at special dinner prices.
Had dinner at Canon last night — food was really good and the service was amazing. The place has a fun, lively vibe (a little loud but in a good way). Only thing, I wish the cocktail menu had a few more options. Overall, great spot and I'd totally come back again!
Excellent and friendly service. Food came out at a good pace, it was family style, which was fun. Some of the dishes were exceptional, while others were just okay (Chicharrones in particular). Our main was the halibut, which tasted amazing, but the fish was overcooked. Overall, everything was delicious, although often it needed just a little more salt. When it got full, the noise level was pretty high inside, but it was still a fun environment.
Loved the atmosphere! Highly recommend. Will definitely be back. I'll dream about that hamachi
OUTSTANDING SERVICE, BEAUTIFUL DINING ROOM SETTING, AMAZING VARIETY OF ENTREES, SMALL PLATES TO SHARE, DELECTABLE MORSELS PRESENTED TO PLEASE THE EYE AND PALATE! HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE STEAK PREPARED TO PERFECTION, SMALL POTATOES WERE DELICIOUS WITH THE HINT OF BLUE CHEESE, SUMMER SQUASH PREPARED WITH A YUMMY CHEESE & CRISP TOPPING. COMPLIMENTS TO THE CLEVER & CREATIVE BAR TENDER TEAM TO MIX THE PERFECT DRINKS! FINALLY, DESSERT WAS UNBELIEVABLE ... FRESH LOCAL PEACH PAVLOVA!! MAKE RESERVATIONS FOR A MEMORABLE FEAST.
Always a fantastic meal and experience. Dined here many times. (Dined at Ella a few months back. Our opinion: why spend more for food that isn't as good???).
Congrats to the Canon Team! This was an incredible meal! Cant wait to come back! Love the emphasis on the vegetables!
We ended up having to use a prix fix menu because we had more than 8 people..we had to share it family style and the food was cold - one of the people at our table has severe allergies so she had to order off menu and they still charged us extra
This was very special night. Food, serves, Ambience Was out of this world. A must do again.

Canon as always had wonderful food and every menu item was a success with my clients. They never fail to impress us.
This is the best restaurant I've ever eaten at. The food and cocktails were absolutely unbelievable. We will be back many many times. Can't recommend it enough
Wonderful food, the fancy stuff I cannot cook myself. Service was attentive but not overbearing, exactly like I like it. Went with my wife for anniversary on a Wednesday. We are old so it was early, 5:15 PM and there was only a few other people there when we arrived. We sat on the spacious hard-covered patio. The bar and restaurant (inside and out) was filling up as we left around 7 PM. Drinks were crazy good, had something with "tomato water" that was surprisingly awesome; and the Canon gin martini with orange bitters is spot on. The food was farm-to-table Sacramento goodness. The canary melon with red curry (small dish) was my favorite. Some reviews mention small portions. But I certainly did not find this to be true at all. My wife and I got multiple (5 or 6) small plates with no entree and we could not finish it all. The entree at the next table looked big enough for 4 people. But all the food was cooked perfectly and super flavorful. I will go back soon and as often as I can afford it. Not the most expensive place in Sac. But not what I'd call cheap either. But it is totally worth the money. Lastly, we took a dessert home (too full), a pistachio cake slice that was decadent.
Great atmosphere and casual setting. Busy kitchen is visible to diners. Food was unique and familiar at the same time. Delicious twists that will make us come back again. Very reasonable cost given the quality of food and preparation techniques.
I really enjoyed the food and service. I would just say as a single diner it was hard to navigate a fully sharing menu. It would have made for a far better experience if, where possible, half portions were made available if even for single diners when that occasion might arise. For several dishes this would not be difficult.
