HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! I contacted many caterers in Sacramento to see about catering a nice party in our backyard for ~ 50 people. I sent an email request to CS in the evening and they contacted me the next morning. I worked with Caille, and she asked some detailed questions about what type of party, food and service we wanted, and then told me that she would work with their chef and get back to me in 4 or 5 days. On the 5th day, I had an email from her with a menu and a comprehensive breakdown of what everything (food, service, tables, linens, etc.) would cost. Only one other caterer called me back right away. All the other caterers I contacted took days to contact me, AND all the ones who returned my calls and were available had to be requested several times to send me their suggested menus. Also, of the other caterers that provided menus ALL left off requested information or items from their menu. CL was the ONLY catering company that provided ALL info requested (and some I hadn't even considered). And FWIW, the final total of the catering bill was less money than originally quoted. So, even though CL is not inexpensive by any stretch of the imagination, they were excellent at keeping the costs near or below the quote. CL came out a month before the event to assess our kitchen and yard, and to make suggestions as to how we might want to set up the party. The tables, linens, etc. were delivered the day before the event. The servers and bartender arrived a couple of hours before our event and set everything up, so that everything was ready when our guests arrived. The servers were excellent! They were very professional and helpful. Not only did they pass appetizers, but they constantly cleaned up, and would even ask if our guests needed another drink. The servers were also very aware of how many of our guests were late, and were more than happy to push out the dinner service to make sure that our late guests had time for cocktails and appetizers. The food was phenomenal. CL came with some of the food prepared ahead of time, but a portion of the food was cooked in our home (which meant that everything was warm and fresh). The chef brought additional food that we had not ordered and which was a huge hit with the guests. I wouldn't be surprised if they had brought something small and inexpensive as an extra treat, but they brought Lamb "lollipops" with chimichurri sauce. Our guests were in heaven. The food on the dinner and dessert buffets was displayed very nicely- the food was placed at different levels and the dessert buffet was quite artistic. At the end of the night, the servers did a fantastic job of cleaning everything up, and our kitchen floor was even mopped. Other than the rental items remaining to be picked up after the weekend was over, you'd never have known a party took place. ALL of our guests kept commenting upon what a fantastic party we had. They all thought that the food was fantastic. Many of our guests have never been to Mulvaney's, but ALL said that they were going to go eat at the restaurant soon. If you are not on a huge budget, there is likely no better catering company in Sacramento.

My Fiance worked with B and L to cater our wedding. There was an agreement on the table and she sent in the invoice with deposit. Then we got a call that the deal was off, hardly an explanation, the most impersonal of apologies. Apparently the owner got involved and scrapped the agreement with no option to continue under any conditions. Very unprofessional if you ask me. It's difficult to plan a wedding and B and L just made it more so. Businesses, please don't offer something and then reneg. Horrible.

Having eaten several times at Mulvaneys B and L...is my mans favorite...when he proposed, we talked about how wonderful it would be if Mulvaneys could do our wedding food. After a quick google search I found that Culinary Specialists is the catering division of Mulvaneys and the booking started. Not having been married before Im not really sure if I was an easy bride to work with or not...I did not have a clear idea of what I wanted and with only two months to plan the whole thing...I felt pretty stresed by the whole thing. Kristina could not have been any more wonderful and held my hand (and my mans) through every step. When I called or emailed her freaked out about table linens she was so sweet and calm, and just took care of everything! On our special day, tons of wonderful staff showed up with an insane amount of delish food! Every time I freaked out that I had forgotten something...they held my hand and told me that they were taking care of it. I honestly have never felt so cared for and completely trusting that everything would be PERFECT! words cannot even express what an amazing job everyone did. From the smallest detail, like making sure the pattern of the linens all faced the same way in the room, to the perfect food...everything could not have been any more perfect...and I am kinda a picky girl ;) We had guests who were married in the last year, guests who own wedding venues, guests who attend a vast amount of weddings yearly and every single one of them was blown away by the amazing food and steller service! Several saying it was the best wedding food and service they had ever been a part of. I think the thing that touched my heart the most was when my 13 year old son could not figure out to tie his bow tie, he went to one of the catering staff and asked for help. The person took out of their super busy schedule to look up on YouTube how to tie and bow tie and was able to help my son :) Is that not just above and beyond? I will recommend Culinary Specialists to every future bride that I encounter!!

Seriously, the best caterers you could ask for - and super reasonable for the high quality product delivered. Everyone kept coming up to me and saying that our food was the best food that they had ever had at a wedding Marina was a dream to work with - super sharp and kind. Not to mention flexible - both Marina and Kristina had a super good attitude about working together with my husband and I to create the menu that we wanted. The staff the day of was adorable. I showed up a little early and spoke to Justin, who was so cute. He came out to ask if I minded if they added a little fennel to the pasta dish. He thought it might add a little something extra. Seriously, adorable a) that he wanted to make it extra special; and b) that he came out to ask. I seriously loved Culinary Specialists. Such good value for money and great to work with (we also used them for our rehearsal dinner at the Next Door space) and had the same great service and product

This is the catering arm to Mulvaney B & L. I have used them many times for work and they are both great to work with and deliver a product that is well above expectations. Every event I have put together using them as catererers people leave very impressed with the quality of the food ( all locally grown and fresh produce/meats).
