“The Mushroom lounge is what some might call the definition of a "dive bar". Usually nothing but locals and a sprinkle of new folks. Bartenders are knowledgeable of different drinks, however most people just have beer or Jameson whiskey shots. Two pool tables with usually serious pool players who will gladly help a new player understand the game and whatnot. Fridays and Saturdays karaoke is jammin!! To finish up I'll quote singer Toby Keith "I love this bar"“

“This place has been revamped since the prior pics on google. Great bar that reasonably priced. The bar has available outlets to plug in chargers for cell phones. Bathrooms are clean. There is a pool table, dart board, booths, and outside seating. Super friendly bar staff!“

“Let me preface this by saying— I love a good, old fashioned dive bar. This one is definitely worth a visit if you are in the area! On a Saturday night when we went, there were quite a few people from all demographics. Service was quick and friendly, with personable bartenders. The drinks were relatively inexpensive, poured correctly, and variety was plentiful. The atmosphere was great— one of those quintessential neighborhood bar types— lots of memorabilia on the walls and it felt very homey. The regulars were friendly and talkative. Bathrooms were clean. Music was good. We went with a group of a dozen friends and had a blast! We will be back, for sure.“

Not To Mention My Appreciation Ti The Current Owners Fir Keeping It Neighborly, Knowing Tgey Were Customers Before Iwners Like I Know Charlie Would Have a Gal Drive Him Down To The Tallac In A Golf-cart To Turn The Tallac Lights On When Mike Owned It Per Their Agreement.“

“Have been here a couple of times and it’s been good experiences so far. When I first tried coming here it was very empty and slow, but after that the next few times it was busy! This seems like a very popular place with younger (not fresh 21 year olds) but mid 20s and above crowds. There’s definitely regulars that come and the bartenders are really cool.

They have obviously bar seating, some high top tables, and a few pool tables you can play at. They have a lot of different beers on tap and I like the cider options here. It’s a very chill bar, not super “dive-y”, very lively and has a great upbeat energy on even week nights. There’s a medium sized parking lot in the back and street parking. It’s not a go to place for me but I definitely recommend if you don’t want to go to a club but want something more fun.“

“Dive Bar is such a beautiful and unique experience just going into the bar and watching the mermaids. On top of it, they have all kinds of events and themes to make it extra fun. I was lucky enough to get a closer experience than most, and that's what I want to tell you about. I won their mermaid for a night contest in 2015. I received training by mermaid Rachel and got to swim in their tank. Some people think it's possible to win this contest by buying online votes, but no one has ever won based on online votes (except the first run, which was only online). I worked hard to win that contest, going to dive bar 4 nights out of the week of in bar voting. I spoke to nearly every patron in the bar and ended up winning by a landslide. I didn't bring in friends with lots of money to buy enough drinks to get me votes, or reach out to some random person on the internet to get me online votes. I went in the bar and did the work - which is pretty much the only way to win, because that's what dive bar wants the contestants to do! This magical contest gave a group of girls the opportunity of a lifetime, the chance to become a mermaid. And the contest was set up in a way that only those who really wanted it could win. Some people are giving Dive such a hard time for this contest, and its truly sad because it's ruining it for everyone, and the complaints are baseless. “Old Tavern is one of midtown Sacramento’s staple dive bars. They have a better than average selection of beer and cocktails. Most evenings it’s filled with midtown hipsters, and the smell of rancid spilled beer. Thursday-Friday-&Saturday nights it gets very packed so you may not find a seat. Daytime you get the alcoholic state workers, and other random lushes.“
