What can I say about it that hasn't been said before? Got a burger since it was advertised as their award winning burger and it was excellent. My wife got tomato soup as well as a meat quiche. I should've gotten the meat quiche. That was also really good as well. To top it I got a bloody Mary. They seem like they didn't mix it well and I felt all the alcohol was on top. No points taken off though since it was good anyways.

It feels like that "lunch date" place for me and my wife. The lunch specials are delicious and enough variety to fit any appetite. We tend to sit in the covered outside area which is never too hot or too cold. The employees are knowledgeable and look you in the eye when they are talking to you. And the desserts... amazing!

Nice European bakery that has been there more than 25 years. Great place to meet friends over pastries, pies and donuts. It has sandwiches and other food as well.

just a bit of a complaint. I sent my son to pick-up cake for his own bday under Chaulzy Sargent yesterday. I understand it is Easter pick-up and it is quite a busy day. the frustration is the disorganization of whether there is a 1 or 2 lines for pickup. the front person tells customers and points out another line for pickup, so others moved to that line, to be told the needed to go back to the line where he just left, I'm which, he'd have to go in the back of the line. he was fortunate enough to have had an elderly couple who observed what happened and gave him back his place in line. a suggestion, have your workers have one information to not create a chaos and frustration during this time of holidays. it was a prepaid item that he needed to pick-up. be more organized and more considerate to your customers rather than be rude!

Amazing desserts! I've been going here for years , it's one of my favorite spots in Sacramento. The carrot cake, the tarts, the cherry pie, the endless assortment of treats here are phenomenal and the customer service is excellent. Highly recommend!

I've finally found my few faves from the dessert/bakery side and have found to enjoy the fresh salmon salads. It took a while for me to figure out what I like there and that is why I am updating my review now. I absolutely love the Napolean- it is my fave. They don't sell it as a cake and only by the slice. It's lights and fluffy, not too sweet with dark chocolate shavings on top. Crust is buttery and flaky. Even after a full meal, you can eat this because it is not a heavy dessert at all. Chocolate chip cookies- when it is made right, it is the best ooweeey goooeeyy soft and chewy but crispy cookie at the same time. I love that it is dark or semi sweet chocolate chips and not milk chocolate. I have found that it has been inconsistent and sometimes even tastes old. I asked the employee helping with them how old they were because I found that they were crunchy at times and she stated they they were made fresh everyday. I have not bought these cookies like I used to, and when I do I hope they are good. Lemon bars- all that fluffy powdered sugar in that thick piece of tangy yet sweet gooey piece of lemon bar. Everyone has their version of what a good lemon bar is, and I get it. I like making my own, but this is the only place that's come to being decent to pay for at a bakery and to enjoy. Salmon salad and salmon sandwich- can add half an avocado to each to make it more filling at an extra cost. The piece of salmon is not enough for each dish. I would say it needs to at least have half a salmon more. One half of the sandwich had nearly nothing in it but veggies. The salmon is cooked very well. Still juicy and soft. I am always afraid to order salmon because it is usually cooked very poorly. Lots and lots of employees in the front and back of the house during the day. I like sitting in the outside covered patio because it isn't as loud. At night there is a fire pit as well with a few seats if lucky enough to snatch.

We have been going to this bakery for a while now and it has always been a pleasant experience. Today was just different. Luckily I checked my receipt, I was overcharged and they readily refunded the amount (w/o the tax). Usually when I buy pastries they put it in a box. Today they put 2 croissants and a blackberry danish in one brown bag. When I got to the offfice all the blackberries were at the bottom of the bag under the croissants. Food is great as usual but the service was not as great.

Considering that "Ettore's Bakery & Cafe" has been around since the early 1990's, it has become a Sacramento staple where many locals rave about their award-winning cakes, pies, and other various desserts. But did you know that this place is also a cafe that serves full-on breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner? They also have a very generous beer & wine menu as well as options for kids. However, I would say the majority of their business is through their catering, weddings, and special occasions. Located in the heart of the Arden-Arcade neighborhood of Sacramento, Ettore's is directly on Fair Oaks Blvd; east of Howe Ave. and just a few hundred feet west of Fulton Ave. I came here during the afternoon of Tuesday 2/13/2024 at around 2:30pm and surprisingly, this place was packed to capacity. Reason being is that this was a day before Valentine's Day so they were taking a ton of cake/dessert orders. Parking was quite difficult to find but still large enough to accommodate even the busiest of days like this one. Since it had been several years when I last visited this place, I wanted to see if anything changed since then. And it was exactly as I remembered with the burnt orange tiling with wooden tables that don't look that much different as they did during the turn of the century. Since I had already eaten lunch a couple hours prior to coming here, I decided to purchase a variety of desserts to take home with me. This consisted of their "Raspberry Danish", a "Beignet", a "Vanilla Caramel Cake", a "Strawberry Chocolate Cake (w/chocolate chips), and a "Strawberry Heart Tart". I only ate the beignet there but took the rest of the desserts home with me. I will say that the quality, care, and work that is put into these is as good as I remember. And they absolutely rival some of Sacramento's other top upscale bakeries including "Freeport Bakery" and "Estelle's". Service here (although very busy) was above average while their prices are quite reasonable. All of the food I mentioned came out to around $18 (after tax). All in all, "Ettore's Bakery & Cafe" is a reputable and above average place to satisfy your sweet tooth as well as getting a regular bite to eat. Everything that includes salads, sandwiches, burgers, and a create-your-own pizza, they will have you covered. I would even recommend Sunday Brunch where they have a create-your-own omelet, a variety of popular breakfast plates, and even mimosas. When you factor in the huge menu options, ambiance, food quality, and overall price, I am giving this place a respectable four star rating.

Great dinner experience with live jazz music ! Really enjoyed the half chicken, crispy skin, juicy and delicious mashed potatoes.

I got the cake sampler box and all of them were delicious! I would totally recommend getting this if you want to try multiple cakes. They are full slices so you might want to share because it's a lot to eat on your own.
