I ordered to go on a Friday, so review is solely on the food. I was looking for fish and chips and was surprised to see Fuji's pop up, so I ordered online. I tried calling, but no one answered. It took about 20 minutes after I put in the order before I got a text stating my order was ready. This place is located next to the target on Riverside. Parking is in the neighborhood next to it or across the street as others have stated. The food was good. I thought it was pricey at $21, but you do get a great amount of food. Enough for 2 meals. I got 3 large pieces of fish that was battered in what was similar to what butterfly shrimp are battered in. It isn't your typical wet batter if that is what you are looking for. The fries or "chips" are well seasoned as well. Since I ordered to go, it did get soggy in the to go container and wasn't as crispy as I would like. But still tasted great. I would order again and do want to try eating in restaurant. Well update if I get the chance.

The entrance to Fuji is located on 13th street. There is street parking and a parking lot across the street. The interior is nice, and the service was good. We went for brunch which is on Saturday and Sunday from 9-2. I ordered the washoku set which comes with rice, miso soup, steamed rice, tsukemono (pickled vegetables), tamagoyaki (Japanese omelette), grilled salmon, and saba shio yaki (grilled mackerel). This traditional Japanese breakfast was good. We also shared the matcha mochi pancakes which were just average. I would order the washoku set again, but pass on the pancakes.

Just came to eat here for my 2nd time. Service was on point, we were so indecisive and our server helped us order, everything was amazing! Food is always fresh, great quality and delicious! We were able to enjoy our girls night without the pressure of having to leave. This could be our new spot!! Maybe more wine selections and flights of drinks would be fun!! Either way, love the new Fujis!

Best quality food ever! Had some rolls and steak batayaki. Really good! Highly recommend! Best rolls we've ever had. The steak batataki was cooked to perfection. Their misoyaki salmon was also sooo good! Will definitely be coming back!

My wife and I along with another couple had dinner at Fuji's last night. Beautiful bar and nice dinning area. We ordered a combination of entrees and small plates. All items are ala carte. My wife had the sea bass which was two small pieces and I had the sukiyaki. Traditional dishes but with their own flair. Our friends had sushi and ramen. Small plates were calamari, ribs, green beans and karage chicken. The karage and ribs were good. The beans and calamari pedestrian. Table service is good, not excellent. I had ordered a bowl of brown rice to go with my sukiyaki, but it never came. Asked once during dinner for it too. A bowl of rice is $3.00. I had the item taken off my bill at the end. I guess if I was real hungry and had two bowls of rice it would have been $6.00. I agree with another reviewer that Fuji's is still tweaking their restaurant. We look forward in trying other items in the future. This is not the old Fuji's of the 70s and 80s. Memories of traditional, down home recipes that we had enjoyed. But a new era of Japanese fine dining. What are my expectations? Perhaps seasonal menus that capitalize on our area's wonderful produce, fruits and protein.

First time trying the restaurant and it was great! The fresh Wasabi was awesome and I had never tried it before!

Second time visiting! First time was for dinner with a large party of people and second was breakfast/brunch. I really love the interior and design, and the service has been great both times. My brunch visit on a Sunday consisted of Loco Moco and the French Toast. It Their breakfast menu is super small right now (4 items) but everything sounded really good Loco Moco (8/10): the gravy was a little salty and the ratio of meat and egg to rice was a bit off but the flavor was really good. French Toast (9/10): $9 for three pieces of French toast made w Japanese milk bread ... so worth. It's a slightly chewy texture + served with syrup and butter. Worth the price, I only wished they had berries/better fruits on the side! Adding some dinner pictures here from my visit (will add more in

I atmosphere was very nice and service very good. The food was a modern Japanese fusion which was very good also.

I enjoyed the miso salmon. My partner had sukiyaki which was good, though it was more soupy than stew. Great service. The green beans were milder than I expected but tasty. Nice atmosphere. I need to check out their happy hour. They have a nice but not overwhelming menu.

I am so excited about this new Japanese restaurant! We visited last night at 7pm on a Friday. It is a large restaurant and almost every table was taken, but we were shown right to our seats. The first thing I noticed was how beautiful the decor was. The bar area is very cool and the drinks coming out were gorgeous. We have two young children and they gave us the option of a booth or table with high chairs. We sat in a large comfortable booth, the kids were given crayons and menus to color. I've never been to a beautiful sushi restaurant where I felt comfortable having my kids before. We ordered the teriyaki chicken for the kids (which I tasted and was definitely a 5/5), the truffle Brussels sprouts, and the calamari to start. The brussels were perfect and crispy and we ate the entire bowl, and the crispy calamari was crunchy and not at all greasy and perfectly seasoned. We also ordered from the raw bar, we got the Rainbow Roll At, high quality fresh fish without too much sauce taking away from the flavor) and the garlic salmon (oh my god). To finish we got some nigiri and the star was their 3 way sake which had the salmon nigiri topped with crispy salmon skin and salmon eggs. After dinner I took my 4 year old to the bathroom where I saw that they had a real changing table with a basket of changing table liners. I know this sounds like a silly thing to put in a review, but as a mom who's changed her babies on a sink before, this was such a thoughtful touch. We were honestly blown away, I haven't been this excited about a local restaurant in a long time.

My fiancé and I are regulars at Russell's other restaurant in EDH - so we had to try this new place. Needless to say we were not disappointed. Things we liked: - The food was phenomenal and came out so fast (almost too fast!). - The bar was amazing and was a great place to kick back after finishing our meal. - The cocktails were fantastic and not overly expensive. - The servers were very attentive and respectful - something hard to find these days unfortunately... - I recommend the Bincho Maguro Nigiri. We will certainly head back to try more of the menu - we just have to get over our current food coma :)

My boyfriend and I came during Valentine's Day to try out Fuji. We've passed by it a couple times and have been wanting to try it out, so we thought this would be a good occasion! We booked our reservation a day in advance and was seated pretty immediately upon arrival. The first floor had a full bar and some small tables to the side. They lead us up the elevator to the second floor which had more tables spread out in the room. The second floor was super underwhelming. When I walked out the elevator and into the room, I was quite shocked. From the outside of the building, I expected it to be fancier? The tables and chairs were honestly, ugly. They were just regular rectangular tables with cheap white table cloth draped on to. I think I would've preferred just the tables without the tablecloth. The tablecloths not being the right size over the table really cheapens the look. The chairs were not great and didn't match anything. I think since they're pretty new, they're still figuring things out! Onto the food! We ordered a variety of things to try on the menu. We got some stuff off of the Valentine's Menu since it was special for the day as well! Here's a complete list of what we ordered and how we rated it! Hokkaido & Negitoro Toast - 10/10 This was my favorite thing we ate off of the whole menu! Sad to say this was on the Valentine's Menu only. This was fresh scallop and tuna belly on top of tempura nori. This was such a good bite, the tempura nori was perfectly crunchy, it was the perfect vessel for the scallop and toro mixture. Macadamia Shrimp - 7.5/10 This is like honey walnut shrimp but with macadamia nuts in the coating of the shrimp. This was yummy, I just wished it had more of that honey glaze. My boyfriend really enjoyed it but to me it was yummy but not amazing. Steak Batayaki - 6/10 This was thinly sliced rare ribeye with garlic, mushrooms, and ponzu onion. This was just cool. I was so excited for this but it just didn't hit. The thinly sliced rare ribeye wasn't that rare. The garlic (shimeji) mushrooms were okay with the ribeye paring. It sounded so good on paper but flavor wise was not that great. I'd pass on this. Furikake Truffle Brussel Sprouts - 6.5/ 10 I've never had such unseasoned Brussel sprouts. Usually when you get Brussels sprouts at restaurants it's always pretty over-seasoned but this one was sooooo under seasoned. I literally had to ask for salt. The truffle oil was great, I tasted no Furikake at all? Maybe that's why it wasn't salty, they forgot to add the Furikake? These would've been great if only they were seasoned! Dragon Roll - 8.5/10 Solid tempura shrimp with eel roll! It wasn't anything to die for, just a yummy roll! 3 Way Sake - 9/10 I really enjoyed this concept of the 3 way salmon nigiri. It had the Ikura on top of the salmon skin atop the salmon! I loved the texture and flavor of all of it! Get this to try!! Eel - 8/10 Regular broiled eel nigiri! I'm not complaining, it was tasty but nothing crazy! Hamachi - 8.5/10 I love yellowtail! This was a really good solid hamachi nigiri! Tamago - 4/10 This was definitely those frozen tamagos you buy, defrost, and just cut up into slices. This was whack, honestly I know it was cheap. 3 dollars a piece, so 2 pieces 6 bucks but my god ... This was bad. I'm giving 4 stars because I really want them to improve since I know they're new!! I honestly would've rated a little lower because overall it was just cool meal, plus the ambiance didn't really balance it out. The server we had was very nice though and was attentive throughout the night! I'll definitely come back but maybe in a couple months. Hopefully things will have improved by then :) !

The experience was fair, but not "WOW".... I'm sure there will be some growing pains to adjust to for a new restaurant. But the owner has a vast experience (knowledge) of how restaurants "should run" to be successful therefore , so it should be possible to improve its chances to survive. The decor was freshened up, but still reminiscent of the former Iron Steak restaurant. They still have to build up their clientele base. It was not busy at all at 7:00 pm on a Tuesday night. The delivery time for the food was unusually fast. (10 minutes) but the food was served luke warm. It did NOT appear to be freshly cooked. The ribeye steak (for $33.00) was a bit tough and served warm and not hot off the grill . The Chilean Sea Bass was over cooked and not moist. Possibly cooked previously and just warmed up. The Sukiyaki was served warm, but not piping hot. The pork rib appetizer was the only dish that was delicious. I will probably be back in the future, but not right away. I want to give them some time to work out the kinks and make some necessary adjustments before I invest in another dining experience.
