Part of Sacramento’s local culture since the 1940s Gunther’s Ice Cream is nothing short of a capitol city landmark, the Googie-style store opened in 1949 still generating lines year-round more than 75 years since opening.

Still using the same slow-churn base since day one, the result a light and creamy mouthfeel distinctly different from modern artisans expanding throughout So.Cal., a stop at Gunther’s suggests 40+ signature flavors plus seasonal specials...

Nice place for ice cream. They make their ice cream onsite and tasted great. Many choices to choose from when it comes to getting ice cream here. They have fruit freezes, sandwiches, and other stuff in addition to the ice cream.
Order online to save a couple minutes otherwise waiting in line the old fashioned way is fine too.
Cashiers are always friendly and the ice cream orders come out quick.

I love how consistent the quality is — you can tell they take pride in what they do. The texture is spot on, and the flavors are perfectly balanced. My favorite place for ice cream, no question!😊
