Harry's is closing at the end of the year. It's closure will leave such a huge void in my life. I've come to depend on the aptly named "Harry's 'Cold or Flu' Chicken Vegetable Soup" from Harry's anytime I'm not feeling well. What will heal me in the future years? I have no idea. I am truly saddened. Packed with veggies and a large amount of ginger, it really is exactly what I need when not in good health. The Asparagus Chicken with Black Bean Sauce is another one of my favorite items from Harry's. I'll always have fond memories of Harry's Cafe. If you haven't yet tried Harry's, it's now or never...Don't miss out!

Based on reviews of Harry's being really busy, I was strategic with my visit, ordered early and phoned my order in. When I arrived there were only 2 others waiting for their food. The owner came right out, asked what I ordered and promptly brought my bag out, no wait at all! The food was still hot when I arrived home. I am not ashamed to say I devoured a pancake like I was in a pancake eating contest. Perfectly made, crispy edges and amazingly light for a pancake! I then dug into my Loco Moco. Being an island girl, this is a dish I miss. The egg was perfectly easy and the patty was good too. The gravy was not what I'm used to on Loco Moco as there were added spices but it worked, and tasted delicious. I actually appreciated Harry's spin on it! Really sad that they'll be closing at the end of the month, you can bet I'll be back to try other dishes (especially the short ribs) and will bring ohana to come and taste the Asian/American/Hawaiian breakfast food we miss so much.

Super bummed that Harry's Cafe will be closing on December 31, 2021. Harry is officially tiring and it's all our loss. But good for him and his retirement. This is a no frills breakfast spot that I've been coming to for many years. The Asian breakfast food that they serve here really reminds me of the breakfast my grandmother made me growing up. Will definitely missed.

Came here to try their pancakes before they closed... there was a bit of a line, but they took our order and we maybe waited for about 20 minutes for the food to come out after ordering. Currently they only do takeout, and you're better off ordering in person at certain times of day, because if they're slammed with orders they may not pick up the phone. Service was pretty minimal...not really any sort of greeting, but I guess it was because they were so busy trying to get through all the orders. Overall, the food came out hot and fresh. - 2 pancakes: some reviewers mentioned it's enough to share if you just got the 2 pancakes...I'd say it's enough for 1 person, unless you're planning to get something else to share. I liked that it was crispy on the outside, soft and spongy on the inside. The pancake itself tasted really fresh batter-wise. It also comes with powdered sugar on top, and the butter and syrup makes it so delicious, and this is coming from someone who prefers waffles over pancakes! - beef short rib stew with fried rice: saw that other reviewers were raving about getting the short ribs, as this is a specialty on the weekends. I felt like it was ok, since the short ribs and the other meat pieces (brisket?) were pretty chewy, not really tender, and perhaps not seasoned much outside of the gravy that it was coated with. The fried rice itself was on the bland side, but I mixed it up with the gravy that the beef short rib came with, and it tasted better. The fried rice also came with bean sprouts, which was interesting and a nice crunch. Subbing the regular white rice for the fried rice was an extra $3.50, which made the dish pricier than it should be (base price was like $13-$14 already, making the dish at least $16). Overall, there was quite a bit of rice compared to meat, so I think it was for the better that we ordered the fried rice instead of the white rice. I feel like I would skip this dish though, if you're thinking about ordering it, since it wasn't particularly special. Something to note was that when we waited for our order to come out, it was called out by items and we were pretty sure the items called out were our order so we walked up, but another person came up to claim the item. We thought it was too coincidental that the people ordering just before us in line, received the exact same dishes with the same subbed fried rice. Turns out they did take our order after bringing it to their car, and returned to tell the owner/worker that they got the wrong order...wished they had confirmed by the receipt order number instead of just trusting the customer by their word. Only after the customer returned with the order confused to talk to the owner/worker, and then we stepped in to say that we thought that was our order did they confirm our receipt. Then the owner/worker opened our food boxes in front of us to see what was in it. Supposedly the other customers didn't open up our food...who knows. Can't really complain and ask for a new order at this point, since this is the restaurant's last days and they were slammed with orders. Make sure other customers aren't claiming your order accidentally! Glad I got to try Harry's Cafe pancakes at least once before it closed, but nothing to write home about.

I went there because I have never been there before and I wanted to see what they offered before they permanently shut down at the end of December this year. I got lucky enough my order was taken in person but really you're supposed to phone in your order. Maybe that was my mistake because it took over thirty minutes for me to get my food. I don't know why it took that long maybe they got a lot of orders but it was only 11:30 am so I don't know what was happening behind the scenes. I ordered vegetable chow fun, tofu with garlic fried string beans, and Szechuan eggplant. The eggplant dish was great, the string beans were good, and the chow fun was ok. Here is where it goes down two stars: all three of the dishes were SWIMMING in sauce. ALL three and now that I noticed it--it all tasted the same except the eggplant dish because it was spicy. I would say that the eggplant dish was firm enough to bite into without it crumbling to pieces. It was just unfortunate how soggy it was because of the sauce. The vegetable chow fun noodles were one big pile of noodles. It was all stuck together and I had to constantly separate it. Otherwise, I would be chewing a block of flat rice noodles. The price point is good. It was reasonable than other Chinese restaurants who have increased their prices but the quality either diminished or remained the same. Overall, I guess if I'm starving, desperate, and want cheap Chinese food I'd come back here. Other than that I wouldn't go out of my way for it.

Always saw Harry's driving down 16th St., but never stopped to try it. Walked over while waiting for my car to get smog fed. The restaurant is take out only right now, and seemed pretty busy. I even heard a lady say she tried calling but couldn't get through. I ordered a breakfast burrito at the door. I wouldn't recommend doing this as most people are just picking up phone orders, so you'll have to either check on your order or hope he remembers you. The burrito was really big. The tortilla was flaky and the burrito overall did not feel too greasy. It came with salsa that was really tasty and fresh as well. I hope to visit soon to try other dishes!

Harry's Cafe will be closing on December 31, 2021! According to Harry himself. So SAD! Another great restaurant closing due to not enough employees. Go, Go, Go. You won't regret it! One month to go everyone...Let's give Harry a great last month!!!

Comfort food at its best. I love getting the Hawaiian breakfast here with the stir fried sausage, spam and eggs. It's simple dish that you could make at home easily, but I don't so I come here. I finally tried the pancake that I have been meaning to try forever now and it is amazing. I am kicking myself for not trying the pancakes sooner. They are crispy and and light. I only got one on the side with my Hawaiian breakfast today. And it was the perfect amount for a side. One downside is the plain rice is a little dry.

Solid breakfast. The pancakes are a little dense and very thick. You get two, but feels more like 4. Bacon is perfectly crispy. Recommend eating in the car so the food is fresh!

It's going to break my heart when this place is gone! Best pancakes in Sacramento! Hands down! Can't go wrong with anything on the breakfast menu, I miss dining outside but go here any chance you can get! You won't regret it!

They didn't miss a beat during the pandemic. Food is always consistently savory and their hot chocolate is one of the best I've ever tried.

Best breakfast in Sac. Impossible not to love Harry. His pancakes and French toast taste like they were made by angels.

Hands down the most comforting breakfast options! Love their pancakes, they're so fluffy and delicious! Love the Asian fusion in their breakfast choices, there's so much to choose from and so many yummy things to try. We recently found out that they will be retiring at the end of this year last day 12/31/2021, so we told ourselves we'd try to come every weekend for breakfast till then because the food is good and the price isn't bad, but most of all the restaurant has really nice staff and the food is always consistent, never had a bad experience in the years I've been coming here. Will update when I try more of their breakfast items!

This cafe has been several blocks down the street from me for years and I am disappointed I haven't came here sooner. Was in the mood for some breakfast and was too lazy to cook, so I ordered 2 pancakes and 2 breakfast combo plates with linguica sausage and country fried potatoes and the other with 2 link sausage and hash browns. Everything was delicious and way better than what we ordered from black bear diner. The country fried potatoes were cooked nice and crispy, over medium eggs were cooked perfectly, and all meats were delicious. Tasted like the home mede meal I wanted. And the pancakes had a nice crisp to them! All this food was fresh and hot within the 10 minutes I ordered and picked it up. Will definitely be back!

I would have given this place 3 stars except they messed up our order. They forgot a piece of our order and called me to come back and get it. Once I went back, they didn't even offer me a refund or a gift card or anything to make up for it. I ordered egg whites which they didn't do. My wife order over easy eggs and the eggs were definitely fried solid. Mediocre food. Good service. Definitely no plans to go back. Too many much better breakfast joints in mid town to frequent this place again. Good luck Harry's Cafe.
